Slitter / Slitting Machinist

£10 - £12 per hour

Slitter Setter/Operator / Temp to Perm / £9.65/£11.58 per hour

A Slitter / Slitting Line Setter / Slitting Machinist is required for a well-established steel processing company based in the Halesowen area. Duties include setting and operating a wide coil slitting line, processing various types of steel coil.

Full Duties include -

  • Setting and running a wide coil slitting line, processing coils up to 1500mm wide
  • Checking and setting of shimless tooling on the machine using Edgemaster
  • Selecting and using correct tooling for slitting heads and separators
  • First off, in process and final quality checks using measuring equipment, reporting of any non-conformance
  • Loading and unloading of coil onto the machinery using a pendant overhead crane
  • Supporting the line when required, banding / packing / labelling of slit coil once processed

Applicants should have experience with setting and running a wide coil slitting line, be able to set and run ALL stages of the machine, and be able to confidently oversee co-workers. Must also have an excellent awareness of health & safety checks and following procedures, as well as promoting good housekeeping on the machine.

Rate of pay is £9.65 on days. £11.58 on nights. A daily attendance allowance of £10.01 is payable after 12 weeks, making your rates effectively £10.65 and £12.58 going forward.

2 shift pattern rotating weekly of -

Days - 6am - 4:30pm Mon to Thurs, with a 2:30pm finish on Fri Nights - 6pm - 4:30am Mon to Thurs, with a 2:30am finish on Fri

The position is a long term contract with a view to permanent for the right person, though please bear in mind that you will be on the agency for an extended period of time.

Tube Bender

£10 - £12 per hour

Tube Bender / Temp to perm / Walsall / £10.00 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Tube Bender / Manipulator for a large steel processing company based over in Walsall.

You will be responsible for setting and operating various types and sizes of Tube Bending machines. You will also be expected to install / change tooling, aligning and programming the machines. You should be experienced within the industry with some knowledge of the types of machinery.

You will be responsible for and your duties will include;

  • Setting and operating tube bending machines
  • Setting and operating various manual and power cutting machines
  • Working from drawings, samples and instructions
  • Selecting tools, dies and gauges
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Attaching fittings such as nuts, sleeves, collars and caps
  • Using measuring tools including tape measures, verniers, etc.

The starting rate of pay for this role will be £10.00 per hour with room for negotiation if you are especially skilled / experienced. You will be working straight days, 7:30am - 4:30pm (7:30am - 12:30pm) totalling 39 hours per week, with 30 minutes break Monday to Thursday. After a thirteen week probationary period through the agency you will be eligible for a permanent contract though you may work for slightly longer than that through the agency.

Quality Engineer (Contract)

£30 - £35 per hour socialable hours, long term

Quality Engineer (Contract) Job opportunities have become available, within a leading manufacturing business. Located near Coventry, this well-regarded company is offering a competitive hourly rate, for the right engineering professionals.

Purpose of the Quality Engineer role -

To help maintain the quality system on site, work on process development and to assist with transition activities, within the quality area.

Quality Engineer duties include -

  • Analyse data and review process stability and capabilities.
  • As and when required, update/produce Control plans, PFMEA, and process workflow instructions.
  • Assist with product and process continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with all teams on site, to help ensure that the project requirements are in line with the internal Transition Process and this is documented correctly.
  • Investigate quality issues and produce written cause and corrective action responses.
  • Help manage 1st article inspection activities, for new and transition parts.
  • Apply the correct problem-solving tools such as 8D, Ishikawa and 5Y.
  • Assist with both internal and external Quality audits, ensuring compliance to internal, customer and any regulatory standards.
  • Assist with the training of staff (Quality and procedures)
  • Using tools such as SPC/MSA studies, assist with the Identification of key characteristics requirements and processes.

Quality Engineer desirable skills/experience/attributes -

  • Experience in a similar position, within a mechanical engineering environment.
  • Able to read and work from technical information.
  • Experience of working to ISO 9001 / AS9100 systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Tool and Techniques
  • Experience in NPI and Product Transfer (ideally)
  • Self-motivated and pro-active work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering education (ideally Six Sigma trained)

Senior Development Scientist Responsibilities:

  • Provide the mathematical, physics, and system contribution to the design of instrument systems, in particular, to optical systems involving imaging and spectroscopy.

  • As a Graduate Physicist, Optical, Mechanical, Chemist, Chemical Engineer, Mathematician or equivalent with workplace experience. A PhD would be advantageous.
  • A team player, able to adapt and adjust when the need arises with experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, including Software, Systems, and Electronics.

As the successful Senior Development Scientist you will contribute to the evolution of customer solutions through algorithm and hardware design and stay up-to-date with state-of-the-art technological developments, feeding that knowledge into novel solutions to customer problems.

Experience in imaging and/or spectroscopy hardware and/or algorithms. In particular knowledge of Raman, IR spectroscopy, Mathematical modelling using Matlab or similar tools would be an advantageous.

Mechanical Assembler

£12 - £13 per hour Overtime

Are you looking for immediate work but would like to work for a world-class manufacturing environment? Previously had experience with mechanical assembly of parts from engineering drawings? Then we want to hear from you!

The client specialize in the manufacture and supply of fire suppression systems in a mixed model value stream environment, distributing their products globally through various networks. The site is a huge complex with modern manufacturing facilities/equipment, employing 1000's of staff globally through their UK, European and USA sites. The company is committed to operational excellence through the use of Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma and global sourcing practices.

In return, the position offers an hourly rate of £12.50 p/h, plus overtime at Time & 1/3 weekday, Time & 1/2 Saturday, plus holidays accrued weekly, and the opportunity of further contract extensions for the right person.

Duties for the role include -

  • Mechanical assembly of pumps & products used in fire suppression industries.
  • Build Sub-Assemblies for use in upstream processes.
  • Use of pillar drills, band saws, fly presses and various hand tools / air tools
  • Fault identification & rectification using a variety of engineering & manufacturing skills.
  • Product testing to confirm performance & satisfy legal/company requirements.
  • Paint Spraying of Pumps and other equipment within a spray booth
  • Masking off, spraying, curing and drying of products
  • Work in a variety of areas within manufacturing to support the business.
  • Work overtime in line with customer demand & business requirements.

We would love to hear from candidates with previous experience in any of the following roles

* Mechanical Assembly, Technical Assembly, prototype engineer, production operative
* Must be able to carry out Quality inspection and testing of all own work
* Be able to work from CAD drawings and technical diagrams
* Ability to work under pressure but still work to very high standards.

Working hours are 37.5hrs per week, 7:30am - 4:15pm Mon to Thurs, with a 12pm Finish on Friday

The position is initially a 12 week temporary contract, however depending on the candidate the role may be extended or potentially lead to a permanent contract.

CNC Form Grinder

CNC Form Grinder / PERMANENT / £13.00 - £15.00 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Form / Precision Grinder, to join a large manufacturing company based in Darlaston, manufacturing bearings and precision components. You will be responsible for the setting and operating of various grinding machines.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established, well-run company, on a permanent basis from day one, on a very decent rate of pay. The rate is entirely negotiable dependent on experience. To be considered, you should have extensive experience working within the industry. The role is a straight permanent position, with no temp-to-perm agency period, therefore, should you be successful at interview you will be given a permanent contract directly from the company themselves.

The skills required and responsibilities of this role include;

  • Setting and operating various grinding machines
  • Experience with Jones & Shipman X & E surface grinders would be beneficial
  • Form grinding aided by optidress and diaform attachments
  • Problem solving and resolving production issues
  • Working to tight tolerances
  • Working from and understanding detailed engineering drawings


This role will be working permanent days, 8:00am - 4:30pm (1:00pm on Fridays) covering a 39 hour week. The pay rate is negotiable depending on experience. Overtime is payable for hours worked over, at some times when production increases overtime may be required.

Material Scheduler

The company are a leading global manufacturer of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products to the retail industry. The role will have responsibility for ensuring the provision of raw materials meet production demand. The role is for a 12 month period covering Maternity Leave.

The company are based in Redditch so is easily commutable from Birmingham, Worcester, Solihull, Alcester, Stratford upon Avon, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Evesham.

As a Material Scheduler, your duties will include;

  • Managing MRP system accordingly
  • Raising and sending purchase orders from system in line with demand.
  • Expedition and deferring of orders as required.
  • Placing stock orders with suppliers to ensure materials are available for call off as needed - controlling raw material stock levels to meet planned requirements.
  • Working with other departments closely to minimise wastage on slow moving stock.

Works Manager

£40000 - £45000 per annum

The organisation are bespoke exhibition stand designers and manufacturers who have several years expertise in the industry. They have an extensive established client base supplying to exhibitions, conferences, museums etc. You will be responsible for managing the whole production function for the site.

The company is based in Redditch so is easily commutable from Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Worcester, Alcester, Stratford upon Avon, Solihull, Dudley, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Kidderminster.

As the Works Manager, your duties will include;

  • To manage all production workforce (approx 20), hiring, disciplinary, training, inductions, personnel management etc
  • Responsible for ensuring the company manufactures all deliverables (stands, structures, museum and shop fit out, primarily at Redditch site, but also cover of training, H&S at other company sites.
  • Responsible for management of company HGV/Van Fleet, plant machinery checks (FLT, genies, ladders, scaffold towers, spray booths, air compressor, airlines, machinery, heating/lighting etc
  • Managing the building (fabric and systems, water, fire alarms, security etc)
  • Represent the companies production function to all suppliers of materials and services, including temporary worker agencies and sub contractors
  • Liaise with company directors and other departments within the organisation to ensure smooth running of the production facility.
