Manufacturing Operations Manager

Up to £60000 per annum Benefits

A first-tier automotive engineering and manufacturing business that is experiencing huge growth, is now seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager to help them continue to maintain high service, quality and delivery levels to their customers.

Reporting directly to the MD, you will be responsible for the Warehouse, Purchasing, Production, Quality, Process Engineering and Maintenance, with 6 direct reports and a growing team currently sitting at 130 people and growing to 240 over the next 12 months.

With an operational bias, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Full responsibility for operational activities within the site including manufacturing, customer order fulfilment, quality, and logistics.
  • Developing the site team, monitor performance against set KPI's and deliver improvements in key areas.
  • All aspects of Health & safety
  • Monthly reporting of KPI's to Managing Director
  • Responsible for Operations and Engineering function
  • Oversee technical delivery of Projects
  • Responsible for driving business change

To be successful in the role of Manufacturing Operations Manager, the ideal Candidate will -

  • Have previous Managerial experience with a production or manufacturing environment
  • Hold extensive knowledge of injection moulding processes, tooling, and industrialisation
  • Have a degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
  • Have IOSH or equivalent Managing Safely

Candidates suitable for this role are already likely to hold the job title of Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or Technical Manager, Engineering Manager.

Steel Operative

£10 - £12 per hour

An Overhead Crane Operator / Material Handler is required for a multi-national steel processing company based in West Bromwich.

You will be operating the overhead cranes to move steel around the workplace, feeding the machine lines and loading/unloading vehicles for dispatch.

You will be responsible for and your duties will include;

  • Operating overhead cranes to handle steel
  • Operating counterbalance forklift trucks
  • Helping to load and unload machines
  • Loading and unloading vehicles for delivery
  • Any other duties as and when required

To be considered for this role you MUST be an overhead crane operator, or Material Handler, with experience handling steel.

You will be working a two-shift pattern, covering days and nights;

6am - 4pm (1pm Friday) / 6pm - 6am Monday to Thursday; rotating weekly.

The rate of pay for this role is £10.82 per hour on the day shifts, £12.30 per hour on the nights. This role is on a temp-to-perm basis.

Deburrer

Are you a Deburrer looking to work for a more established local manufacturing business? Want to work in a modern facility with state of the art equipment, plenty of overtime, and an environment that encourages training and development? Then we want to hear from you!

The company are long established, family run business that specialise in the manufacture of precision components to the Aerospace, Oil & Gas and Defence industries. As part of their continuing expansion they have an opportunity for a Deburrer to work within their modern manufacturing site in Nottingham. Working alongside a team of highly skilled machinists, you'll be given full responsibility for the finishing of pre machined parts. The business has invested heavily in the last 12 months purchasing brand new machines, along with refurbished offices and site facilities.

Benefits include Hourly rate of up to £13- £13.50 p/h depending on experience, overtime during the week and weekends, 32 days holiday, company pension, and much more

Responsibilities of the Deburrer include -

  • Deburring of pre machined parts and components
  • Lapping, surface finishing, and polishing to specification
  • Visual inspection for any defects before loading into an ultrasonic cleaning machine
  • Unloading parts from the cleaning cycle, inspecting again before loading into stillages or containers
  • Transferring finished parts to the QC dept for final pass off
  • General housekeeping and ensuring all work areas are clean and tidy

Ideal applicants for the Deburrer role will have the following skills / experience

- Previous experience in a similar role, finishing, dressing and cleaning pre machined parts
- Understanding of how to deburr, use of a lapping machine, and polishing
- Good eye for detail, spotting defects or potential issues before the parts go through the cleaning process
- Have a strong stable working history within the manufacturing industry, and be able to provide references when required

Working hours are 39hrs per week Monday to Friday, on days

Injection Moulding Setter Technician

£34000 - £37000 per annum

A growing plastics manufacturing business providing products and components to a range of industries including medical, electronics and industrial is currently seeking an Injection Moulding Setter to join their team.

This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring high production levels upheld and quality standards are maintained.

As in injection Moulding Setter your duties will include -

  • Setting of machines and tools in order to achieve the highest standard of quality and production targets
  • Start up and shut down injection mould machines as well as carrying out checks for any discrepancies
  • Trial new tools, ensuring necessary paperwork is created
  • Optimise machine cycle times, ensuring parts are running to cycle

To be successful in the role of Injection Moulding Setter, the ideal candidate will -

  • Have experience of working as a Toolsetter or Process Technician within the plastic injection moulding industry
  • Have experience of setting moulding machines, tool changing, troubleshooting process issues and improving processes

Based near Oxford, this role is commutable from Banbury, Bicester, Moreton-in-Marsh, Faringdon, Buckingham and High Wycombe.
