Electrical Maintenance Engineer

A leading manufacturer and marketer of branded cosmetics, toiletries and household products worldwide, is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work from their state-of-art premises due to continued business growth with new product opportunities and other innovations.

Based in Scotland, this role is commutable from Glasgow, Cumnock, Ayr, Largs, Drumclog and all surrounding areas.

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer your duties will include, but are not limited to -

  • Maintain and repair all production and process manufacturing equipment
  • Conduct PPM (planned preventative maintenance) tasks as required
  • Prioritise workload in liaison with Engineering Manager, to provide the most effective maintenance service possible thus maximising production output
  • Undertake On call duties as & when required by Engineering rota
  • Complete engineering projects as assigned by management
  • Actively engage with suppliers to improve service levels and reduce costs
  • Ensure area of responsibility housekeeping is of a high standard

To be successful in the role of Electrical Maintenance Engineer, the ideal Candidate will -

  • Be a qualified Electrical Engineer / Time Served Electrician ideally with 3 years' experience in FMCG and/or GMP environment
  • Have an HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Have experience within a FMCG environment or equivalent sector with continuous volume output requirements.
  • Have Electrical controls knowledge - PLC's, invertors etc
  • Have knowledge of pneumatic circuits
  • Have demonstratable fault-finding skills
  • Have Health and Safety knowledge
  • Be a good team player and able to work independently and safely with minimal guidance
  • Have excellent communication and customer services skills
  • Be PC literate and able to use Microsoft Office tools
  • Hold a Full, clean driving license

Production Operative

Up to £11 per hour

A Production Operative is required to join a manufacturing company in the Aldridge area of Walsall on a permanent NIGHT shift. The company manufacture dies and tooling for the printing industry.

Your duties and responsibilities as a production operative will include;

  • Putting dies into solutions
  • Cleaning, drying and loading components into a jig
  • Operating machinery when required
  • Entering data into the in-house computer system
  • Adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times

Full training is provided, so if you have ANY factory-based experience as a Production Operative you will be suitable for this role!

The hours of work for this Production Operative role will be PERMANENT NIGHTS; 10:00pm - 6:00am.

The role pays £11.00 per hour on nights. You might be required to do a short period of training on days, paying £9.50 per hour until you move onto nights. This should be no longer than a week or two, depending on your progress.

Machine Operator

A Machine Operator or Production Operative is required to join a manufacturing company in the Aldridge area of Walsall on a day shift pattern. The company manufacture dies and tooling for the printing industry.

Your duties and responsibilities as a factory operative will include;

  • Operating machinery including saws, drilling machines and a small crane
  • Entering data into the in-house computer system
  • Monitoring stock levels and any other duties as and when required
  • Adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times

Full training is provided, so if you have ANY factory-based experience as a Machine Operator you will be suitable for this role!

The hours of work for this Machine Operator role will be; 8:00am - 4:00pm

Overhead Crane Operator

Up to £11 per hour

An Overhead Crane Operator / Material Handler is required for a steel processing company based in the Brierley Hill area of the West Midlands.

This position is working on a temp to perm basis - with a permanent contract awarded after a probationary period.

Duties include:

  • Operating an overhead crane to handle steel
  • Assisting with loading / offloading steel on machine lines (multi-strand blanking lines)
  • Banding, packing and palletising stock
  • General material handling duties

You will NOT need an Overhead Crane Operator licence, experience of operating overhead cranes to handle steel is all you need.

This position is working mornings and afternoons;

6am - 2pm (6am - 12:30pm Fridays) / 2pm - 10pm (12:30pm - 7pm Fridays)

The rate of pay is £10.93 per hour £15 per week timeskeeping bonus.

Injection Moulding Technician

£30000 - £37000 per annum

A leading manufacturer of components supplied to some of the world's leading brands in the FMCG industry is currently seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Technician. This role will play a key part within the business, supporting the production department in all aspects of injection moulding, ranging from tool setting to trouble shooting.

As Injection Moulding Technician, your duties will include -

  • Carrying out tool and colour changes, as well as condition setting of machinery
  • Trouble shooting of process issues such as short shots, flashing, etc
  • Monitor machines periodically to check output and scrap targets are being achieved

Based near Dunstable, this role is commutable from Milton Keynes, Luton, Aylesbury, Bedford, Brackley and Thame.

To be successful in the role of Injection Moulding Technician, the ideal candidate will

  • Have significant experience of working in a plastic injection moulding environment as an Injection Moulding Setter or Technician
  • Be experienced in tool changing, condition setting and trouble shooting
  • Know how to improve cycle times, OEE and reduce scrap without impacting on quality
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of moulding machines, moulds, robots, and ancillary equipment

On offer -

A salary of £30-37k depending on experience

Working Monday - Friday 22:00-06:00

CMM Programmer (Nights)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Operator to join a manufacturing company in the Aldridge area of Walsall on a rotating shift pattern. The company manufactures dies and tooling for the printing industry.

General Operative

Up to £10 per hour

A Cleaner / General Operative / Driver is required for a welding and fabrication company in the Cannock area.

You will be responsible for a number of site duties, primarily consisting of general cleaning work, as well as occasional short distance driving using the company van (regular driving licence required) and some basic on-site shopfloor duties such as banding and wrapping stock. The duties are;

  • Cleaning communal areas, i.e. offices, toilets, canteen, etc.
  • Short distance driving when required, i.e. picking up or dropping off supplies
  • Banding, wrapping and assisting on the shopfloor when required
  • Preparing work for the press brake

The hours for this role is working straight days of 7:30am - 4:30pm, paying £10.50 per hour to begin with.

This is a temp to perm role. If you do well then a permanent contract with the company is available after your probationary period.

Production Supervisor - Nights

£40000 - £42000 per annum BONUS

Are you a Production Supervisor, keen to break into the Aerospace Industry? Want to work in a modern manufacturing facility with a great mix of machinery both automated and traditional? Or are you looking to get off shift work and back onto days only? Then we want to hear from you!

The business is a global manufacturer, and supplier of a wide range of high-quality products for the aerospace and Power Generation sectors, with sites across the world they are part of the biggest Aerospace manufacturing group in the world. With a site stretching over 200,000 sq feet, they have superb manufacturing facilities ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved. They also have a highly experienced team of staff across all the divisions of manufacturing, along with team leaders, supervisors and managers who are responsible for their own respective departments.

This position is based on a night shift, 39hrs per week Monday to Thursday. There may be occasional shift based cover during holidays which would include additional shift pay.

Benefits include a salary of up to £41,600 inc shift allowance, quarterly bonuses, 33 days holiday including bank holidays, a company pension scheme with matched contributions up to 7.5%, and various other benefits

Responsibilities for the Production Supervisor engineer include -

- To ensure the department achieves all set KPI's for efficiency and cost control
- Ensuring all department health & safety is adhered to, by carrying out risk assessments, audits and investigations
- Production planning, by understanding customer requirements, material and capacity demands
- Coaching, mentoring and daily management of a team of up to 20 staff
- Driving continuous improvement by championing 6S and lean manufacturing exercises
- Introducing methods, ideas and changes required to ensure planned efficiency targets and budget constraints are met

To be successful in the role of Production Supervisor, the ideal candidate will have -

- Previous experience in a technical manufacturing environment, supervising daily operations and workflow
- A formal qualification within an engineering discipline, C&G or HNC preferably
- Effective staff management skills, to ensure the team are motivated and performing well
- Confident with manufacturing processes and lean methodologies such as ToC, 6S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5why's
- Be able to use SAP or a similar package to manage the recording of KPI's and critical data, as well as Microsoft office packages

Maintenance Engineer

£32000 - £36000 per annum

A world class supplier of components and systems for prestige OEMs, are seeking an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to join their leading-edge manufacturing plant.

Having had significant investment across the facility - they are continuing to invest to realise their exciting growth plans. If you are proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work well under pressure you'll fit right in!

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment and tooling.

Based in Scotland, this role is commutable from Glasgow, East Kilbride, Livingston, Cumnock, Biggar, and all surrounding areas.

As a Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include -

  • Continually improving process, product and delivery performance, with the objective of improving the service provided by the Maintenance department and meeting departmental KPI's
  • Being proactive in improving existing processes to prevent equipment/tooling breakdowns long term
  • Performing equipment repair, in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Completing Equipment Preventative Maintenance on time
  • Ensuring adherence to Quality Systems such as adherence to ISO and TS Systems
  • Supporting the production department where required
  • Improving internal and external customer related KPI's
  • Ensuring housekeeping is in good order and 5s standards are followed consistently
  • Advising production to stop in the event of serious Health & Safety or Technical issues

To be successful in the role of Maintenance Engineer, the ideal candidate will -

  • Be a time served and qualified maintenance engineer with an electrical bias
  • Have 17th or 18th Edition and Level 3 NVQ
  • Have a minimum of 4 years electrical and mechanical experience
  • Have the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with effective time management skills
  • Have hydraulic experience and previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment - desirable but not essential

  • A basic salary of up to £36,250
  • 40 hours per week on a 3x shift pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am)
  • OT paid at 1.5 x Monday - Saturdays and 2.0 x Sundays and Bank Holidays
