They're a global business with over 600 staff and a presence in every continent. They specialize in providing automation solutions in the form of multi axis robots, to provide pick and place, palletization and sortation solutions designed specifically for the press and moulding industry.

Responsibilities for the role include -

  • Installation, Commissioning & Service of robotic equipment which are installed and integrated onto production lines within manufacturing companies.
  • Programming of Bespoke PLC's and controls on the robot equipment
  • Routine service, checks and breakdown maintenance
  • Heavily involved with commissioning of projects and updating software on the Robots
  • Providing end user support to customers as well as training and demonstration delivery
  • Having an autonomous 'hands on' approach managing of workload and time constraints to ensure the delivery of projects effectively

This role represents and excellent opportunity to work in a growing business within a solid and stable market, and will enjoy a high degree of freedom in helping evolve and develop this crucial position.

There is a robust training package with this role too, due to the bespoke nature of the robots and their PLC's, candidates MUST be prepared to spend time overseas for training at head office, 10 weeks training in total booked in blocks of 4 weeks at a time.

Nationwide travel is expected, however the business do aim to keep engineers as regional as possible.

This successful manufacturing company is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to take on responsibility for mechanical maintenance of capital plant, equipment and site facilities. The main objective of the role is to ensure that all equipment, systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently, safely and provide good plant reliability.

As Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include -

  • Reactive and planned maintenance of plant and machinery
  • Investigation of mechanical plant and machinery breakdowns, determining root cause and carrying out necessary repair work inclusive of obtaining spare parts as necessary.
  • Investigating failures in services, determine root cause and carry out necessary repair work inclusive of obtaining spare parts as necessary.
  • Installation of new equipment.
  • Ensuring all plant/machinery records are kept up to date.
  • Competently reading and using mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to diagnose faults.

To be successful in the role of Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, the ideal Candidate -

  • Will require a minimum of HNC in an Engineering discipline and post apprenticeship experience in a production plant environment.
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Will have good verbal and written communication skills, and, good numerical and literacy skills.

Based on the outskirts of Leicester this role is commutable from Ashby, Nuneaton, Coventry, Rugby, Coalville, Loughborough and Market Harborough.

Candidates suitable for this role are likely to hold the job title Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Engineer or Service Engineer.

They have a highly experienced UK wide team, providing a comprehensive service to customers across a range of sectors including Steel, Automotive, Motorsport including F1, Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Energy, General manufacturing, Machine shops, Stone Cutting, Wood, Heavy Industry.

Benefits including a base salary of up to £28,100, quarterly bonus, weekend overtime, daily lunch allowance, company car with fuel card, credit card for expenses, mobile phone & laptop, 30 days holiday including bank holidays, contributory pension scheme, private healthcare and life insurance.

Responsibilities for the role include -

  • Carrying out planned maintenance and service visits at customer sites across the east & west midlands areas

The team includes 8 other experienced routine service engineers across the UK, along with 28 fully qualified service & installation engineers all in strategic areas of the country too to provide full and comprehensive support. All work is planned at least 4 days in advance too.

- Maintenance Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Field Technician, CNC Engineer
- Apprentice trained in mechanical or electrical maintenance
- Good knowledge of fault finding, electrical and mechanical repairs
- Practical knowledge of Turning, Milling and CNC applications
- Willingness to travel nationally, and to Ireleand and be prepared to stay overnight if required
- Clean driving license

Standard working hours are 40 per week, no out of hours call outs are required, no weekends unless agreed by the client and the engineer to work it.

Benefits including an excellent base salary of £35 - £38K per annum for the right person, average working hours of 45 - 48hrs with travel time, quarterly bonus, company car, mobile phone & laptop, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a company pension and healthcare scheme,

Responsibilities for the role include -

  • Breakdown repairs and maintenance CNC machinery including bar fed lathes
  • Fault find and repair of machines at customers premises
  • Carrying out both mechanical and electrical repairs to machinery including control panels
  • Installation and commissioning of machinery
  • Working with FANUC controls
  • Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
  • Discuss and relay faults with Service Manager and other members of the team
  • Answer customer queries on machines.
  • Travel from home to site covering your own region, but must be prepared to work within the UK and Ireland when required

All work is planned at least 7 days in advance and jobs are sent through weekly, however urgent breakdowns will get called through so you must be prepared to react to these given the location.

Working areas will include the south west and south coast areas, however it may include nationwide travel from time to time to support other areas on big projects that happen through the business
