Electronics & Systems Engineer

A global manufacturer is looking to recruit an experienced Electronics & Systems Engineer

to join their team due to continued growth & expansion, responsible for functional testing of hardware & software creating methodical test reports and to be the first line of support for issues in production.

Experience/Skills/Knowledge required to be successful:

  • Experience in Coding and Electronics
  • MUST HAVE knowledge / understanding of the principles of Embedded Software
  • Preferably able to program in C/C with experience of real time embedded systems
  • Able to read and interpret electronics schematics & troubleshoot both hardware and software
  • Able to design PCBA for manufacture

In the role of Electronics & Systems Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Design & development of both new products and existing product modifications
  • Creating detailed project documentation including functional & non-functional requirements
  • Functional testing of hardware & software, creating methodical test reports
  • Be the first line of support for issues in production
  • Support project administration for both current & new product development projects ensuring projects are completed both on time & to budget
  • Support hardware & firmware FMEA
  • Developing validation test for electronics, firmware and software
  • Ensure all designs are suitable for manufacture and are produced cost effectively
  • Undertake product testing required by design & development and document results
  • Support the Quality Assurance team with fault finding on product returns / quality issues
  • Assist with providing compliance testing & documentation for the products

Senior Electronics Engineer

£50000 - £60000 per annum Pension, Holiday

Job Title: Senior Electronics Engineer

Location: Twickenham - Commutable from - London, Bracknell, Farnborough, Woking, Guildford

Salary - Up to £60,000

Are you a Senior Electronics Engineer who is self-motivated and experienced in new product development? Would you consider Analogue Circuit Design your main strength? Do you have strong knowledge of instrumentation?

If so, I am keen to see why you believe you would be a great match for the below role.

This role requiring security clearance mainly works on mixed-signal design projects. The senior electronics engineer will have at least 5 years' experience working on acoustic/instrumentation systems.

You can expect to be working on a project on mixed-signal design including pre-amplifiers, filters, power supplies, interfacing and analogue-digital conversion for precision instrumentation applications. Other duties within the role include:-

  • Contribute to all aspects of Product Development, from requirement examination to design and development.
  • Product design documentation and test specifications.
  • Provide technical support to sales and marketing.
  • Run development takes independently.
  • New and existing product development including improvements and fault finding.
  • Design, prototype and document circuits.
  • A constant desire to improve existing products
  • Work both independently and in a team environment.

Senior Electronics Engineer - Skills Required

  • Degree in a relevant degree (2:1 minimum)
  • Basic Analog components/circuits skills
  • Operational Amplifier circuits and Power supply technology
  • Circuit analysis, modelling and theory
  • Analog-Digital Conversion and Interfacing and IO
  • Schematic layouts and PCB design
  • Experience of Cadence OrCAD PCB design tools
  • Must be suitable for SC security clearance
  • Good written and presentational communication skills will be required
  • Comfortable working in a highly multidisciplinary environment.

Senior Electronics Engineer

Senior Electronics Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design of micro-controller and DSP based instrumentation and control electronics, including sensor interfaces, dc-dc regulators, and small actuator drives.
  • Carry out experiments, perform design calculations to predict, measure and validate instrument performance with respect to mechanical, particulate and other parameters.
  • Understand and mentor others in good design techniques, experimentation, analysis and domain understanding.
  • Maintain designs and drawings (Schematic, wiring, assembly, BOMs, ATE specifications etc.), in accordance with company and international standards.
  • Use of schematic capture and printed circuit tools.
  • Use of SPICE and SI simulation tools.
  • PCB, PCA, and cabling test methods.
  • Have excellent fault finding, problem solving and report writing capabilities

As the Senior Electronics Engineer you will be a technical leader for a given product or problem, providing team leadership and design direction as appropriate. This role will give you the opportunity to take on the role of Project Leader of a team as directed by the Engineering Manager.
