A Steel Bander is required for a steel processing company based in the Dudley area of the West Midlands. It is a great opportunity to join a well-established, reputable steel company during a period of growth.
This position is working on a temp to perm basis – with a permanent contract awarded after a probationary period.
Duties include:
- Assisting with loading / offloading steel on machine lines
- Banding, packing and palletising stock
- General material handling duties
- Training to operate an overhead crane to handle steel
You will NOT need an Overhead Crane licence, but experience of operating overhead cranes to handle steel is beneficial.
This position is working days and nights rotating weekly;
- 6:00am – 2:00pm (Monday to Friday – mornings)
- 2:00pm – 12:00am (Monday to Thursday – afternoons)
- 40 hours per week with paid breaks
The rate of pay is £11.67 on both shifts to begin with.
