Manufacturing Engineer

Manufacturing Engineer (Attractive package on offer)

A leading manufacturer of safety critical components is looking to recruit an experienced "hands-on" Manufacturing Engineer to join their team due to continuing growth.

This is an exciting time to join a rapidly growing business which can provide further training & development and good career prospects.

Purpose of Role:

As Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide support to the Manufacturing facility, assisting with driving both process & product quality improvements to drive down cost of production without compromising product quality & output.

Skills / Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of machining processes: e.g. grinding & turning
  • Ability to work on several projects/tasks simultaneously
  • Engage teams to deliver in process improvements
  • Must be methodical and organised to be able to prioritise tasks
  • Able to present comprehensive presentations & reports for Management/Shop Floor
  • Must be analytical
  • IT Literate particularly Excel / Microsoft Packages

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the drive of process & product quality improvements within the plant
  • Problem solving and liaising with internal / external individuals on problem resolution
  • Be the process technical expert & frontline support for all process issues
  • Deliver projects & process improvements from concept through to completion
  • Support the Manufacturing Operation, providing the process requirements to manufacture products to the correct quality, volume & cost.
  • Actively reduce costs of manufacture whilst maintaining product quality & volume.
  • Monitor & respond to process output issues
  • Monitor daily reject returns, gather data and implement robust fixes
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure Production output targets are sustained
  • Responsible for ensuring that all equipment used in manufacturing or assembly processes is functioning and in specification.
  • Create Operational Standard Work & Line Balance, understanding Process Constraints
  • Identify/Support lean activities within the plant
  • Maintain process to ensure adherence to Quality standards & the Plant Quality System requirements.

CNC Setter Programmer

CNC Turner Setter Programmer (Days Role)

A leading manufacturer of precision components for many key applications including Automotive & Rail is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner/Setter/Programmer to join their team.

Purpose of Role:

As CNC Turner Setter Programmer, you will be responsible for the development of CNC programmes and operate turning machines & associated equipment. You will have responsibility for ensuring the most efficient operation of existing & new machinery and ensuring adherence to tool care.

Skills / Experience:

  • Experience in CNC Programming (On & Off Line)
  • FANUC / PROTRAC Controllers
  • Bridgeport
  • XYZ milling machines
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Experienced working with a variety of materials including metals & plastics

Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC programmes and operate machinery & equipment to achieve production schedules within specified times and minimum down time.
  • Operate equipment so that material is processed to required quality standards.
  • Ensure equipment, machinery and tooling are maintained and ensure replacement tooling is ordered in sufficient time to maintain delivery performance
  • Assist in recording of output, machine parameters and efficiency records
  • Train new operators to maximise efficiency and resource
  • Assist in documenting all existing / new methods & programmes.
  • Support the Production Manager in new installations & refurbishments
  • Assist in developing new methods, routes and production standards ensuring Engineering, Production and Quality requirements are met
  • Assist in shutting down and locking up when required
  • Adhere to HSE rules and regulations at all times

Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Applications Engineering Manager, you will create electro-mechanical drawings using 2D & 3D CAD. You will also produce associated Bills of Materials (BOM).

To manage projects from concept through to final design, working on different projects day to day.

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • Competent in 2D & 3D CAD
  • Project Management - managing multiple projects at a time in a fast paced environment
  • Customer facing / Customer liaison experience
  • Aptitude for Electro-Mechanical products & assemblies

* Maintain CAD & BIM files and ensure easy but secure access for users

Purpose of Role:

As Quality Inspector you will be responsible for the inspection of manufactured components and assemblies to ensure compliance to customer specification.

Experience required:

Experienced Quality Inspector within a busy manufacturing / engineering environment

(metals/precision engineering/metal fabrication)

Ability to use manual inspection tools

Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015

Experience of auditing both internal & external (Suppliers)

Calibration of equipment

Ability to read & interpret Engineering drawings

Non Compliance reporting

Able to produce accurate and concise reports

IT Literate - Microsoft Office including Excel & Word.

Responsibilities Overview:

Inspect purchased components in line with customer specification

Investigate and respond to customer complaints

Liaise with supplier when reject parts are found

To liaise with production, design & purchasing in discussions concerning quality problems

To assist with other Goods Inwards functions when required.

To ensure any faults & deviations found are segregated and the necessary action taken

To assist in ensuring all measuring equipment is within current calibration

Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required within the scope of the role.

Purpose of Role:

To develop real-time safety critical embedded software, to execute within a vehicle's Electronic

Control Unit, controlling the Powertrain or after-treatment equipment.

Skills / Experience:

  • Educated to HND or Degree Level in Software Engineering or Electronics
  • Experience of developing embedded real-time systems using the C language
  • Configuration management experience using IBM Clearcase or similar
  • Experience in an embedded application field

Responsibilities:

  • Generation of Embedded C Code to implement control algorithms typically from MATLAB, Simulink & Stateflow diagrams
  • Integration of manually & auto-generated C Code into a single application using IBM Rational Clearcase OR Plastic SCM
  • Static analysis of C code using QAC to MISRA standards & local guidelines
  • Verification of C Code via peer review, electrical test bench & analysis of Unit Test results
  • Software Integration Reviews & Testing
  • Use commercial software for in-circuit debugging (Lauterbach)
  • Use of data acquisition systems over CCP (INCA, ATi) for calibration and debugging
