  • Investigate lost opportunities and stagnant current accounts.

  • Good understanding of CNC tooling and have Metalwork industry knowledge.

Purpose of the Supplier & NPI Engineer role -

  • Review suppliers, ensuring capabilities are aligned to quality, cost and delivery requirements.
  • Work closely with suppliers ensuring APQP requirements are delivered in line with NPI projects.
  • Work closely with suppliers ensuring PPAPs are completed in line with supplied parts.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to influence product/process designs and the overall performance.

Quality Engineer (Contract)

£30 - £35 per hour socialable hours, long term

Quality Engineer (Contract) Job opportunities have become available, within a leading manufacturing business. Located near Coventry, this well-regarded company is offering a competitive hourly rate, for the right engineering professionals.

Purpose of the Quality Engineer role -

To help maintain the quality system on site, work on process development and to assist with transition activities, within the quality area.

Quality Engineer duties include -

  • Analyse data and review process stability and capabilities.
  • As and when required, update/produce Control plans, PFMEA, and process workflow instructions.
  • Assist with product and process continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with all teams on site, to help ensure that the project requirements are in line with the internal Transition Process and this is documented correctly.
  • Investigate quality issues and produce written cause and corrective action responses.
  • Help manage 1st article inspection activities, for new and transition parts.
  • Apply the correct problem-solving tools such as 8D, Ishikawa and 5Y.
  • Assist with both internal and external Quality audits, ensuring compliance to internal, customer and any regulatory standards.
  • Assist with the training of staff (Quality and procedures)
  • Using tools such as SPC/MSA studies, assist with the Identification of key characteristics requirements and processes.

Quality Engineer desirable skills/experience/attributes -

  • Experience in a similar position, within a mechanical engineering environment.
  • Able to read and work from technical information.
  • Experience of working to ISO 9001 / AS9100 systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Tool and Techniques
  • Experience in NPI and Product Transfer (ideally)
  • Self-motivated and pro-active work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering education (ideally Six Sigma trained)

Customer Quality Engineer responsibilities include -

  • Provide technical direction on Quality engineering to the Production team.
  • Review and implement process sheets and control plans.
  • Help to problem solve manufacturing quality issues and implement the correct changes.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, production and the rest of the quality team.
  • Help manage any customer and supply quality issues.
  • Apply product and process audits to in hands - identify, document & report issues within the production processes on site.
  • Manage the calibration of equipment on site.
  • Work on PPAP and APQP submissions.
  • Raise 8D's and use RCA for any non-conformances.
  • Provide ongoing support to TS/IATF16949 Quality Management System.
  • Identify training requirements and mentoring staff as required.
  • Assistance with the reporting and monitoring of programmes.

  • Experience working within the automotive sector.
  • Knowledge of the TS/IATF 16949, ISO9001 & ISO14001 QMS's.
