I manage the Redditch branch of ASC and oversee consultants who focus on permanent and contract Engineering & Manufacturing and Business Support roles. I also support the team recruit for Senior and Executive level positions within these disciplines.

I enjoy being able to provide a full, thorough and consultative service that adds value to employers’ processes, offering them a bespoke recruitment solution. Recruitment is one of the most rewarding industries you can work in, with a wide variety of tasks and people to deal with on a daily basis… there’s rarely a dull moment.

enjoys skiing and going on adventures with my wife and 2 children. Santa Caterina Valfurva, Italy is the best place we've visited. It’s a picture-postcard ski resort.

An interesting fact about me is....

I was sponsored to move to Cairns, Australia, to set up and run an allied health recruitment company.  I stayed for 18 months before returning to the UK to settle with my now wife and children. The company is still going strong.

Welding Technician

£40000 - £45000 per annum Benefits

Job Title: Welding Technician

Salary: Up to £44k (dep on exp)

Location: Coventry

A manufacturer of electro-mechanical components supplying the automotive industry on a global scale, is now seeking a Welding Technician to join their team in Coventry. Their products are best in class and can be found in most car manufacturers production lines, making them one of the most stable businesses to work for.

Reporting to the Welding Manager, you will ensure the availability of welding systems and processes, as well as the efficient support of technology and equipment to make sure that availability and quality meets the required standard.

Some of your main responsibilities are listed below:

  • Manage parameters of welding process in production to ensure C.E.P. pass requirements is maintained and achieved.
  • Detection and prevention of welding problems, methodical and analytical troubleshooting
  • Constant support and monitoring of production equipment and carry out TPM schedules to maintain plant performance of welding equipment
  • Constant improvement of the technical availability and N.O.K rates, sustain repeatability through process management and evaluation of process problems
  • Support the transfer of knowledge to enable operators to understand and perform their function in meeting the quality standards for welding.

The ideal candidate will ideally be from the automotive industry, experienced with operating and programming ABB robots, with a high degree of knowledge of automated robotic welding systems. Experience in laser welding technologies would be advantageous.

Pipe Fitter

Some of your responsibilities are listed below:

  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications.
  • Plan pipe system layout, install or repair according to specifications
  • Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications
  • Cut, form and drill sub-components up to inspection stage
  • Carry out inspections pre and post welding stages
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed promptly and accurately
  • Ensure that completed documentation is dispatched with the finished components to the main site
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.

Mon - Thurs 07:30 - 16:15 Fri - 07:30 - 12:00

Mechanical Assembler / Fitter

Up to £12 per hour

Maintenance Engineer

Up to £35000 per annum Benefits

An FMCG business that is experiencing exponential growth due to one of their main products becoming extremely popular across the UK. As a result of this, they are expanding their maintenance team to include an electrically biased maintenance engineer.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will take a lead on a team of two junior maintenance engineers, allocating jobs, mentoring, carrying out PPM's, ordering parts and taking care of contractors when on site. The main purpose of this role is to free up the Engineering Manager so he can focus on making improvements for them to be able to cope with the growth they're enjoying.

Some of your main responsibilities are below:

  • Carry out PPM duties on production line machines
  • Carry out any breakdown repairs
  • Responsible for regular service checks on production line machinery
  • Service and maintenance of electrical motors and servos, with some mechanical and pneumatic

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Maintenance Engineer who is looking to take the next step up to a supervisory role, electrically biased with some knowledge of mechanical 80/20 split. The factory is on shifts, as are the other two maintenance engineers in your team, but you will be working standard days, Monday to Friday.

Hours are days 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday

Senior Contracts Manager

Up to £60000 per annum Benefits

Job Title Senior Contracts Manager

Salary Up to £60K per annum (dep on exp) plus benefits

For 90 years, this company has manufactured award winning safety critical aerospace components, selling them on a global scale. Because of the importance of adhering to all safety legislation throughout the supply chain, they are now seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their growing team.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will support a market segment or several accounts and take responsibility for all commercial activities in that area. This commercial role will focus on contracts from new and existing accounts, ensuring that the supply chain adhere to the high standards of the employer, as well as ensuring all clauses are closely followed by the employer with regards to customer and supplier contracts.

Some of your main responsibilities are listed below:

  • Deal Making / New Business Deals - Contributes to major bids, managing straight forward bids & tenders, providing detailed comments to customer terms of business and providing guidance to the sales community.
  • Contract Management - Leading and facilitating in Contract Baseline Reviews (CBR)
  • Contract Interpretation / Dispute Resolution - Guides the business in remaining within contractual guidelines, understanding customer disputes and offer resolutions to appease
  • Guidance - Assist and train more junior members of the team
  • Responsible for meeting business targets for their allocated accounts.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Contracts Manager from aerospace or MoD industries, used to high levels of customer facing and telephone time and comfortable dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You will be experienced at working with deal structures, contract structures and schedules.
