I currently work within the Controls and Automation division at ASC. I focus on the Oil & Gas, Utilities, Automated Materials Handling, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage and FMCG industries.

I recruit for a variety of permanent, contract and interim roles including; Control Engineers, Commissioning Engineers, PLC/SCADA Engineers, Engineering Managers, Senior/Lead Engineers, Technical Support Engineers and Service Engineers.

I have 7+ years within the engineering recruitment sector and Controls & Automation is a really interesting market. I'm really excited about its development and passionate about finding great talent to help its growth. This has supported gain a good understanding of the controls and automation sector to a very high standard.

Control Systems Engineer

£35000 - £45000 per annum

Permanent full time

Would you like to work for a successful engineering company who specialise in the design, manufacture, support control systems, bespoke solutions and turnkey projects to a range of sectors?

Working as a Control Systems Engineer you will:

  • Control system documentation (FDS, SDS, FAT, SAT)
  • Responsible for programming various automated systems / devises, using programmable logic controllers (PLC).
  • Design of control system in compliance with applicable project, quality and statutory requirements.
  • Travel and Commission project on client's site when required. (Wide UK travel)
  • Flag up any foreseen delays with the software design and commissioning of the system.
  • Develop new software for customer specific equipment.
  • Configuration and programming of multiple PLC, HMI, SCADA and telemetry systems including (Siemens S7, WinCC, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix)

To be successful, we're looking for:

  • Strong PLC / controls background ideally with Siemens / Mitsubishi / Allen Bradley or similar platform.
  • Experienced with SCADA configuration (WinCC, Wonderware and Panelview etc)
  • A Time served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be experienced with client facing.

Benefits:

£40,000 to £45,000 pa basic salary with pension and health care plan, free on-site parking. Holiday is 32 days including all statutory and public holidays.

Technical Support Engineer

£35000 - £42000 per annum

Would you like to work for a successful industrial automation business who engage in broad ranging activities in control measurement and information within in various process industries?


A Service Support Engineer position that has just become available within a successful industrial automation company in Aberdeen. This leading business will be paying a competitive starting salary and package to the successful Engineering professional.

Exciting new opportunity for a highly driven Service Support Engineer with a strong track record within the Automation Industry.

To apply for this position you need to have experience working with DCS systems / control systems and this role is more service / support biased.


Working as a Service Support Engineer you will:
* Providing technical specification to procurement and supervision of suppliers.
* Work from their offices in Aberdeen however there will be travel to customer sites in Europe, the UK, offshore and overseas as required for each project.
* Leading FAT testing, transition to site, site installation, commissioning and site acceptance test, this would result in customer acceptance, handover and documentation.
* Project initiation system design
* Project planning, detailed design, and configuration
* Monitoring and controlling the quality of work; and formalising project closures
* Preparation of design documents and incorporation of relevant software inputs.


To be successful, we're looking for:
* Experience in a similar position within Petrochemical or industrial automation sector.
* Ideally DCS systems experience (modifying existing code or fault finding)
* Ability to work with minimal supervision, whilst an effective team player as part of a structured team.
* Understanding of ISO 9001 and Health and Safety at Work Act
* Would need to be a good communicator and work have a professional manner
* Would require full UK driving licence.

Ideally you should have a current BOSIET / Medical Certificate.

Also would like a candidate who has previously worked with control system hardware.


Benefits:
Salary £30,000 to £40,000 per annum, pension with company contribution up to 12.5%, private medical insurance and healthcare scheme, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and uplifts when working on site


Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm, Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Working as a Control Systems Engineer you will:

  • Control system documentation (FDS, SDS, FAT, SAT)

  • Someone who has carried out the completion of full turnkey projects from design through to programming and commissioning.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be experienced with client facing.
  • Strong background of working with latest servo, robotic and vision technologies.

  • Liaise with senior project engineer within controls department at all stages of the design, build and test of a system.
  • Assist in project planning process.
  • Develop technical documentation as required.
  • Responsible for assisting with programming, robotic devices, or other manufacturing processes using programmable logic controllers (PLC).
  • Design of control system in compliance with applicable project, quality and statutory requirements.
  • Preparation of all PLC, HMI and associated software/documentation for the project.
  • Travel and Commission project on client's site when required. (Wide UK travel)
  • Flag up any foreseen delays with the software design and commissioning of the system.
  • Modify existing PLC and HMI programs and fault finding.
  • Develop new software for customer specific equipment.

To be successful, we're looking for:

  • Strong PLC / controls background ideally with Siemens / Mitsubishi or similar platform.
  • The ability to fault find and modify code.
  • A Time served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification.
  • An understanding of electrical technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Knowledge/experience with robotic and vision systems advantages

Control Systems Engineer

£40000 - £50000 per annum

Would you like to work for a large independent system integrator who pride themselves on project delivery and excellent customer service?

Working as a Control Systems Engineer you will:

  • Program a variety of PLCs using Ladder Logic, Function block or Statement List methods.
  • Programming and configuring SCADA software packages
  • IP network design and configuration.
  • Perform a FAT and site commissioning under formal client witnessed conditions.

To be successful, we're looking for:

  • Strong PLC / controls background ideally working the full lifecycle of a project from conceptual design all the way through to commissioning on site.
  • The ability to fault find and modify code.
  • Must have experience creating functional design specifications.
  • A Time served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification.
  • Previous experience working as part of a team to design, implement and test control/integrated
  • Highly motivated individual who can demonstrate experience delivering control system software projects and working closely with customers
  • You will naturally have an appetite to learn and develop additional skills and new technologies

Senior Electrical Design Engineer

£35000 - £45000 per annum pension, 25 days holiday

Permanent full time

Would you like to work for a successful engineering company who specialise in the design, manufacture, support control systems, bespoke solutions and turnkey projects to a range of sectors?

Working as an Senior Electrical Design Engineer you will:

  • Undertake design risk assessments to support detailed design proposals
  • Responsible for preparing detailed electrical specifications
  • Review of vendor data and drawings for all electrical equipment and package plant, motor control centres, power distribution panels and field equipment panels
  • Interpreting and understanding client requirements from client documents (drawings, specifications, correspondence, etc.)
  • Communication with client, external design resources and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specification
  • Produce I/O configuration and I/O lists, material specifications and bills of material

To be successful for the Senior Electrical Design Engineer role, we're looking for:

  • A Time served apprenticeship or relevant Electrical engineering qualification.
  • Essential to have experience with Autocad / Autocad Electrical or Eplan within a design perspective.
  • Would be a benefit if you have exposure of working with various PLC platforms
  • Additionally, you will have electrical design experience with a good knowledge of electrical regulations/safety standards.
  • A Time served apprenticeship or relevant Electrical engineering qualification.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be experienced with client facing.

Benefits:

£35,000 to £45,000 pa basic salary with pension and free on-site parking. Holiday is 32 days including all statutory and public holidays.

Within this opportunity there is opportunity of remote working and not essential for to work in the office on daily basis, just project dependent.
