I currently work within the Controls and Automation division at ASC. I focus on the Oil & Gas, Utilities, Automated Materials Handling, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage and FMCG industries.

I recruit for a variety of permanent, contract and interim roles including; Control Engineers, Commissioning Engineers, PLC/SCADA Engineers, Engineering Managers, Senior/Lead Engineers, Technical Support Engineers and Service Engineers.

I have 7+ years within the engineering recruitment sector and Controls & Automation is a really interesting market. I'm really excited about its development and passionate about finding great talent to help its growth. This has supported gain a good understanding of the controls and automation sector to a very high standard.

Control Systems Engineer

£26000 - £35000 per annum

Would you like to work for a growing and specialist engineering company who provide turnkey projects in infrastructure systems integration.

Working as a Control Systems Engineer you will:

  • Program a variety of PLCs using Ladder Logic, Function block or Statement List methods.
  • Programming and configuring SCADA software packages
  • IP network design and configuration.
  • Configuration of CCTV, PA and telephone systems over an IP network.
  • Perform a FAT and site commissioning under formal client witnessed conditions.

To be successful, we're looking for:

  • Strong PLC / controls background ideally working the full lifecycle of a project from conceptual design all the way through to commissioning on site.
  • The ability to fault find and modify code.
  • A Time served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification.
  • Previous experience working as part of a team to design, implement and test control/integrated systems.

Benefits:

£25,000 to £35,000 pa basic salary with pension. Holiday is 33 days including all statutory and public holidays.

Commutable from: Derby, Nottingham, Burton upon Trent, and Loughborough.

Control Systems Engineer

£35000 - £40000 per annum pension

Would you like to work for a successful engineering company who specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of compressors, blowers and vacuum pumps?

Working as a Control Systems Engineer you will:

  • Design and edit compressor control system philosophies (Duty/Standby and Lead/Lag) to suit customer's requirements.
  • Program PLC controllers (LOGO and S7's) and manage the companies change to B&R Automation studio (B&R training available).
  • Implement the addition of Iconn, remote condition monitoring hardware (serial and bus coms) to new and existing compressor sets.
  • Create functional descriptions/procedures for specific projects.
  • Produce all electrical schematics and panel drawings required for contracts/ manufacture.
  • Review and advice on electrical panels and wiring.
  • Produce a full range of layout detail drawings and planning documents to contract specifications.

To be successful, we're looking for:

  • Strong PLC / Control Systems Engineer background ideally programming Siemens or similar platforms from scratch.
  • The ability to fault find and modify code.
  • A Time served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification.
  • An understanding of electrical technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with control panel wiring, Industrial standards and commissioning

Benefits:

£35,000 to £40,000 pa basic salary with pension and health care plan. Holiday is 33 days including all statutory and public holidays.

Commutable from: Birmingham, Worcester, Kidderminster, Royal Leamington Spa, Solihull, Smethwick and Coventry.
