Mechanical Design Engineer

Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities


* Design and develop machinery performance, operational and cost requirements. You can also expect to be involved in some of the assembly, commissioning, testing!


* Build relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.


* Continually identify, implement, monitor and update processes & practices to ensure a high standard of consistency with design philosophies


* Produce high-quality designs and drawings.


Requirements


* Mechanical engineering degree, HND/HNC. (or similar)* Ideally, 3 years of design experience in special purpose machine design or any manufacturing related field.

AUTODESK Inventor experience.


* 2D CAD and 3D modelling system experience
* Sheet metal design (Preference)
* Exposure to the packaging industry is desirable
* Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes

Development Design Engineer

Development Design Engineer

Salary based on Experience.

A world leading supplier of a specialist technology is seeking a Development Design engineer on the back of another fantastic year. This award-winning manufacturer offers a wide range product collection of equipment, including remote control equipment other maintenance technology.

The Role:

As part of a team, the Development Design Engineer will be responsible for designing tooling and fixtures for production and offer technical support where required.

Responsibilities:

The Development Design engineer will be tasked in providing solutions and drawings using 3D modelling software to allow batch production including drilling, machining and jigs. Drawings will also allow members of the team to produce new tooling in a controlled manner.

Other responsibilities include providing support so that quality standards are adhered to, assisting subcontractors with the use of Company tooling and comply with HSE requirements.

Amongst other responsibilities, you will also develop and maintain Tooling priority, jig maintenance and jig scrappage programmes respectively.

What's needed?

  • HND and above in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical or hydraulic engineering.
  • Experience of SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to Problem-solve and troubleshoot with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Good oral communication and listening skills.

Location: South of Leicester

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 (Plus Overtime)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Design Engineer will be part of a 5 person design team working for an SME engineering company.

Priding themselves on offering a flexible service whilst maintaining a positive attitude are fundamental to succeeding with the business. The Design engineer will be responsible for the commercial designing and detailing of conveyors and automation engineering solutions, using 3D Inventor.

The work is varied as most systems are bespoke engineering solutions and will involve the following:

  • Design
  • Detailing drawings,
  • Issuing drawings
  • creating parts list
  • site surveys
  • Liaising with project managers and clients as required

Requirements

  • 3 Years' Experience
  • Sound Practical Engineering knowledge

Software Engineer - PLC

£36000 - £42000 per annum Pension

Job Description

This role is based predominantly within the Staffordshire office however the individual may be required to travel to client premises on an occasional basis to undertake software modifications or meetings.

Primary duties

  • The design, documentation, development, testing and commissioning of PLC based control systems.
  • This will cover the complete system development lifecycle from initial design through to customer site acceptance.
  • Investigation and rectification of defects at customer's sites.
  • Provide support and assistance to other engineering disciplines within the design team.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential skills

  • Experience working with software controlled systems.
  • Knowledge of IE61131-3 programming languages.
  • Experience of the complete software/systems design lifecycle.
  • Experience of PLC programming languages.
  • Knowledge of computer operating systems.
  • Knowledge of network / serial communications protocols and hardware - MODBUS

Design Engineer - Electronic

Job Title: Design Engineer - Solidworks, Autocad, 3D, Defence

Location: Gloucestershire

 

 

Overview

 

A position with a high-end organization has recently been released, ASC is assisting a major client to find a design engineer. The design engineer's primary role is to design electro-mechanical solutions, adhering to product design specifications and associated standards. You will also be able to complete drawings (cable), create BOM's, prototype documentation and information design for manufacture release.

 

Primary duties

 

  • Produce Electro-Mechanical design solutions to comply with the Product Design Specification and budgetary targets.
  • Create and maintain product drawings and product design documentation.
  • Support Production Engineering to produce accurate product build documentation by compiling annotated pictorial assembly steps.
  • Support prototype builds programs.
  • Assist Production Test and TEMPEST Engineering with validation testing of developed products.
  • Liaise with Production department to achieve continuous product improvement.
  • Actively support the company Document Release and Engineering Change Request procedures.

 

Design engineer requirements

 

 

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronic or Mechatronics with a minimum of 2 years of design experience.
  • Circuit understanding of Communications, Computer and IT equipment.
  • Modern design practices, manufacturing/prototyping processes, and their costs drivers.
  • Mechanical Experience in designing and drafting using 3D and 2D CAD tools, preferably Solidworks & AutoCAD.
  • A strong understanding of manufacturing processes and their associated cost drivers.
  • Experience designing electro-mechanical enclosures, sheet metal and machined components an advantage.

Overview

A requirement for Mechanical Design Engineers positions have opened up for a specialist business, that install Automation into the Automotive sector. Located in Birmingham, this well regarded business will be paying competitive contract rates 6 month to the successful Engineering professionals.

Essential Skills

  • Have the ability to problem solve, start layout design, GA Layouts and detail design, undertake engineering calculations
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical design engineering
  • Experience with Conveyors and mechanical handling.
  • Manage and control documents (drawings, calculations etc.) to ensure correct dissemination of information
  • Understanding the need to communicate and escalate matters to senior management, within and outside of the organisation.
  • Willing to work nationally and internationally
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Experience of automotive conveyor systems, automation, robotics, Body in White assembly, Trim and Final assembly, special purpose machines, handling systems

Desirable Skills

  • Use of AutoCAD, 3D CAD modelling/detailing. Inventor
  • Finite element analysis - Solid works, Inventor.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Good understanding of design and the project phases.

Education Required

  • Ideally a HND / HNC in mechanical engineering or a suitable degree
