I am an Engineering Recruitment Consultant specialising in Design Engineering. My passion for creativity and innovative designs means I’m always developing my market knowledge and ensures I can provide a quality recruitment service to both clients and candidates.

I don’t believe in just matching skills to jobs, I enjoy recruitment because I can become part of someone’s career journey or an extension to a business. For me, it’s about being personal, getting to really understand who you are to be able to provide a relevant and realistic service.

Although I’ve only recently joined ASC, I’m really impressed by the pure focus and dedication consultants have for their clients, candidates and market. No stone goes unturned and they will go above and beyond, not shying away from difficult roles.

Control and Automation Systems - Support engineer - £33,000 - £37,000 (Negotiable depending on experience and skillset)

Location: Hampshire or Yorkshire

What's involved?

Support engineer positions include generous on-call allowances (£500) and company car.

All positions offer competitive salary, company pension scheme and monthly profit share.

What we need from you.

A passion to problem solve and ensure you're helping customers to your fullest capabilities.

A logical approach to fault finding.

To be conversant with a Multitude of PLC and SCADA / HMI platforms (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Bradley Allen, SLC500, PLC5)

Share in the 24/7 rota and travel regularly to customer sites (UK) at short notice.

Experience in Electrical and Mechanical devices (Electrical is more important)

3 years minimum experience

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be able to thrive in a small team and will be offered the opportunity to progress, not necessarily restricted to one avenue.


Responsibilities


* Design and develop machinery performance, operational and cost requirements. You can also expect to be involved in some of the assembly, commissioning, testing!


* Build relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.

* Produce high-quality designs and drawings.


Requirements


* Mechanical engineering degree, HND/HNC. (or similar)* Ideally, 3 years of design experience in special purpose machine design or any manufacturing related field.

AUTODESK Inventor experience.


* 2D CAD and 3D modelling system experience
* Sheet metal design (Preference)
* Exposure to the packaging industry is desirable
* Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes

Development Design Engineer

Development Design Engineer

Salary based on Experience.

A world leading supplier of a specialist technology is seeking a Development Design engineer on the back of another fantastic year. This award-winning manufacturer offers a wide range product collection of equipment, including remote control equipment other maintenance technology.

The Role:

As part of a team, the Development Design Engineer will be responsible for designing tooling and fixtures for production and offer technical support where required.

Responsibilities:

The Development Design engineer will be tasked in providing solutions and drawings using 3D modelling software to allow batch production including drilling, machining and jigs. Drawings will also allow members of the team to produce new tooling in a controlled manner.

Other responsibilities include providing support so that quality standards are adhered to, assisting subcontractors with the use of Company tooling and comply with HSE requirements.

Amongst other responsibilities, you will also develop and maintain Tooling priority, jig maintenance and jig scrappage programmes respectively.

What's needed?

  • HND and above in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical or hydraulic engineering.
  • Experience of SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to Problem-solve and troubleshoot with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Good oral communication and listening skills.

CAD Design Engineer

£27000 - £34000 per annum Excellent Benefits

CAD Design Engineer

Location: South of Leicester

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 (Plus Overtime)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Design Engineer will be part of a 5 person design team working for an SME engineering company.

Priding themselves on offering a flexible service whilst maintaining a positive attitude are fundamental to succeeding with the business. The Design engineer will be responsible for the commercial designing and detailing of conveyors and automation engineering solutions, using 3D Inventor.

The work is varied as most systems are bespoke engineering solutions and will involve the following:

  • Design
  • Detailing drawings,
  • Issuing drawings
  • creating parts list
  • site surveys
  • Liaising with project managers and clients as required

Requirements

  • 3 Years' Experience
  • Sound Practical Engineering knowledge

Software Engineer - PLC

£36000 - £42000 per annum Pension

Job Title: Software Engineer

A company that has grown to become one of the UK's largest independent system integration organisations. From their beginning, they are determined to deliver the reference standard in quality, accuracy, safety.

Job Description

This role is based predominantly within the Staffordshire office however the individual may be required to travel to client premises on an occasional basis to undertake software modifications or meetings.

Primary duties

  • The design, documentation, development, testing and commissioning of PLC based control systems.
  • This will cover the complete system development lifecycle from initial design through to customer site acceptance.
  • Investigation and rectification of defects at customer's sites.
  • Provide support and assistance to other engineering disciplines within the design team.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential skills

  • Experience working with software controlled systems.
  • Knowledge of IE61131-3 programming languages.
  • Experience of the complete software/systems design lifecycle.
  • Experience of PLC programming languages.
  • Knowledge of computer operating systems.
  • Knowledge of network / serial communications protocols and hardware - MODBUS

Software Engineer (C , C)

£35000 - £45000 per annum Excellent Benefits

Job Role: Software Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Salary: up to £45,000

A successful business located in Birmingham, who specialise in the automotive sector is looking for a Software Engineer to complement a team developing their product range aswell as assisting clients with more bespoke design options. This will be across Manufacturing systems to embedded electrical applications.

Role fundamentals

  • The role will involve all phases of a project life cycle from estimation and requirements support, through to specification, design and validation to documentation, signoff, training and support.
  • Development, configuration and the creation of deployable packages under Windows environments and ARM/PIC embedded platforms.
  • Software design and development with the following languages VB.Net / C# / VB, PHP, C / C and T-SQL.
  • Using and understanding the following communications technologies: TCP/IP, HTTP, JSON, OPC, RS-232, USB, CAN, I2C, SPI, MS-SQL.
  • Researching, Interfacing and developing API's for components and peripherals using the above technologies.

Qualification and education

  • Electronic / Software / Control Systems based Degree / HND

Preferred Skills

  • 2 years in an engineering development role where robustness and up-time were paramount due to the demands of a production environment.
  • C/C Experience in PIC or ARM environments and the development of embedded control systems.
  • VB.Net / C# / VB, development creating Database or comms based service & client software and front ends.
  • Networking / low level TCP Comms using Sockets or SOAP / JSON / XML or HTTP.
  • MS SQL Server Schema Design
  • Broad knowledge of PHP / IIS web server development and configuration
