Responsibilities


* Design and develop machinery performance, operational and cost requirements. You can also expect to be involved in some of the assembly, commissioning, testing!


* Build relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.

* Produce high-quality designs and drawings.


Requirements


* Mechanical engineering degree, HND/HNC. (or similar)* Ideally, 3 years of design experience in special purpose machine design or any manufacturing related field.

AUTODESK Inventor experience.


* 2D CAD and 3D modelling system experience
* Sheet metal design (Preference)
* Exposure to the packaging industry is desirable
* Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes

CAD Design Engineer

£27000 - £34000 per annum Excellent Benefits

CAD Design Engineer

Location: South of Leicester

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 (Plus Overtime)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Design Engineer will be part of a 5 person design team working for an SME engineering company.

Priding themselves on offering a flexible service whilst maintaining a positive attitude are fundamental to succeeding with the business. The Design engineer will be responsible for the commercial designing and detailing of conveyors and automation engineering solutions, using 3D Inventor.

The work is varied as most systems are bespoke engineering solutions and will involve the following:

  • Design
  • Detailing drawings,
  • Issuing drawings
  • creating parts list
  • site surveys
  • Liaising with project managers and clients as required

Requirements

  • 3 Years' Experience
  • Sound Practical Engineering knowledge

Experience with some of or all

  • Conveyor Systems
  • Automation Systems
  • Robotics
  • Special Purpose Machinery.

Mechanical Design Engineer

£32000 - £37000 per annum

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £32,000 - £37,000

Location: Birmingham

A fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer within an established and growing company located near the centre of Birmingham with a strong reputation in the automotive and test industries.

We are seeking a Mechanical engineer who can work on various types of equipment for assembly and testing.

Key roles and responsibilities

Produce specification documents

Support customer review meetings and provide on-site support as required

Validate designs to ensure all requirements have been achieved

Ensure that all designs perform to best practice technology standards and are not over-engineered for customer applications

Produce technical mechanical drawings for manufacturing following best practice and procedures

Produce simple electrical schematics and IO assignment

Review designs and produce BOM's which are clear, correct and documented sufficiently for hand over to purchasing and manufacturing

Qualification and education

Degree or HND / HNC in a relevant discipline

Transferable skills from time served engineers or hobbies will also be taken into consideration

Preferred Skills

3 years of experience with a good understanding of bespoke machine building

Much of our work is engineering or automotive-focused, therefore a good knowledge and interest in motor vehicles and the motor industry would be of benefit

Understanding and experience of vehicle electrical systems & schematics would be beneficial, even from hobby experience

Experience and knowledge of working in a practical, hands-on environment

Experience in Solidworks (Sheet metal, Part, Assembly, Drawing) other package histories will be considered and training will be provided

Having an understanding and the ability to generate accurate BOM's

Design Engineer

£40000 - £50000 per annum Negotiable salary, pension and more

Design Engineer

Location: Cambridgeshire

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Are you an established designer within the Automation sector? Are you looking to make a move in to a role which works from CAD drawing to PLC Programming? Have you got experience in working on bespoke projects?

A Design/Automation engineer position is live in Cambridgeshire, following company growth. Predominantly this is a machine designing role, however this role could also include many aspects of delivering bespoke automation solutions. You can expect your day to consist of researching, designing, specifying and CAD drawing of bespoke systems and will include both on-site and client based work.

Job Duties

  • To be in charge of Mechanical Design Work packages for a project
  • Adhere to agreed deadline dates for the mechanical design of systems and associated equipment.
  • Work to company values with an importance to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Produce CAD drawings and designs of bespoke machinery and parts
  • Research and development work across automation processes
  • Commissionin bespoke machinery
  • PLC and robot programming for automation projects
  • Occasionally provide support on mechanical assembly and installation work (this is not the prime job role but you will need to be prepared to support where necessary).

Requirements

  • Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCad3D or Similar
  • Robot Programming - Beneficial
  • PLC programming in structured text - ideally Beckhoff - Beneficial

Other ideal criteria

  • Mechanical and Electrical engineering ability

The Person

  • Minimum of 2 year's experience in an electronics product design environment.
  • Embedded software development using C and/or C .
  • Good knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuits, including low power microprocessors and micro-controllers.
  • HND or higher in Electronic Engineering.

Are you an experienced Design engineer who thrives in a technical environment? Have you got a background in machinery design? Would you be open to leading a small team of engineers?

An organization with a background in providing some of the world's leading confectionary/food manufacturers, seek a Design engineer who is mechanically biased. The design engineer will develop and design machined products and parts whilst also producing factory layouts along with supporting services and installation.


Job Purpose & Main Duties

Your role will primarily to be working and designing the following.

  • Issue ancillary and machine equipment to contract.
  • Provide assistance to Customer services a sales department, offering technical expertise
  • Risk identification to ensure smooth planning of cost maintenance and scheduling
  • Undertake calculations for design work on contracts and development projects.
  • To maintain modular product structure for product range.

Mechanical Design engineer requirements - essential

  • Experience in bespoke industrial machinery
  • 3D Design experience using Siemens NX, Solidworks or Inventor
  • Modelling of machined/fabricated parts as well as assemblies and sheet metal.
  • Sound knowledge of manufacturing methods.
  • Worldwide travel willingness is essential
  • Strong attention to detail along with cost and quality.

  • Food or pharmaceutical sector experience (hygiene)
  • Experience in leading projects and teams of engineers
  • ERP System experience
  • Safety Risk Assessment experience
  • An understanding of PLC Control systems, specifically electrical equipment in design
