Metrology Applications Engineer

£35000 - £45000 per annum negotiable, car, bonus

A Metrology Applications Engineer position has just become available for a well-established manufacturing business. This multi-sector business will be paying a starting salary and bonus, to the successful Engineering professional. If you're confident with metrology and showcasing how to use Applications with customers, then apply immediately. Although experienced candidates are welcomed, those with a moderate amount of experience should apply too!

Overview of the position -

  • Provide a service to the regional sales team, assisting with product introduction, training and technical support to prospective and current customers.
  • Provide customer-facing support and implement the full variety of products available.
  • Support colleagues and customers, with a technical understanding and offer newly improved process solutions.
  • Support the launch of new products, with the sales team and help present new techniques and approaches.
  • Measure the scope of projects, including time scales, project objectives, customer requirements and any potential cost savings.

Desirable skills/experience/attributes -

  • Experience working within an Applications Engineer, or a Technical Sales Engineer role (looking for a change in career).
  • Mechanical Engineering education, or a strong understanding of metrology.
  • Able to read technical drawings and use CAD / CAD software.
  • Strong communication skills with colleagues and customers.
  • Full driving licence and flexible with travel requirements

Senior Calibration Manager

£40000 - £45000 per annum flexible salary, car package, bonus

A Manchester based Calibration Manager is required for a multi-national engineering company based in the UK.

Do you have a good amount of experience within the measuring equipment area? Happy to work closely with Technical Sales team, helping to push business growth? Would you like to be a key member of the management team, for a well-established business? Then we want to hear from you!

The company

This company specialise in the manufacture of hand held temperature measuring instruments, and provide full after care and service of the devices as part of a service package. They have a strong team of service engineers across the UK, along with direct support from supervisors and area managers.

Duties and responsibilities include -

  • Manage the calibration and the on-site service workshop team.
    Manage the onsite calibration of both company and third party testing instruments.
  • Liaise with the Technical Sales team, ensuring efforts are made to help drive the calibration side of the business.
  • Ensure that all staff are adhering to the quality procedures on site.
  • General maintenance and management of the calibration rigs.
  • Strive to drive continuous improvement within the calibration services provided.

The suitable candidate -

  • Engineering education - ideally within electrical / electronic instrumentation.
  • Technical background within the calibration of hand held instruments - flow/thermal measuring devices.
  • Solid understanding of the UKAS accreditation.
  • Ability to work well with the Technical Sales and Marketing team.
  • Flexible with travel requirements as and when required.
