Manufacturing Manager Duties include

  • Attend customer meetings, review customer data and required specifications.
  • Create, deploy and maintain manufacturing schedules.
  • Work closely with the design, manufacture and technical departments ensuring that you make full use of all staff available.
  • Co-ordinate production work flows for various projects at any given time.
  • Monitor budgets and project progress.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt, or accredited lean skills gained within a Six Sigma environment advantageous.

Senior Quality Engineer

£50000 - £55000 per annum bonus, negotiable salary

Purpose of the Senior Quality Engineer role -

  • Help to drive the implementation of quality tools and techniques on site, improving the productivity on site.
  • Drive the use of PFMEAs identifying and reducing risk processes.
  • Manage process audits ensuring that capabilities on site are aligned to quality, cost and delivery requirements.
  • Liaise with other Quality staff ensuring APQP requirements are delivered in line with NPI projects.
  • Use RCA/8D ensuring defects are corrected and corrective/preventative actions are put in place.
  • Review KPIs on site, monitoring what has been achieved against requirements.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to influence product/process designs and the overall performance.
  • Design and develop continuous improvement plans on site.
  • Provide training modules on Quality tools such as SPC, 8D, and PFMEAs as and when required

Project Manager (Automation)

Project Manager (Automation) positions have just become available for a specialist business, that install Automation into the Automotive sector. Located in Birmingham, this well regarded business will be paying competitive contract rates (long duration) to the successful Engineering professionals.

Purpose of the Project Manager role -

To work as part of a team, delivering solutions to clients on time and within budget. Bringing all of the elements together, from order placement to final equipment acceptance.

Project Manager responsibilities include -

  • Compiling contract documentation, checking customer data and required specifications.
  • Checking budgets and technical information at the sales hand over stage, prior to manufacture.
  • Scheduling of project programmes.
  • Create, deploy and maintain timing schedules.
  • Work closely with the design, manufacture and technical departments.
  • Management and supervision of sub-contractors and external service suppliers.
  • Assisting with the preparation of new quotations.
  • Creating budgets and monitoring project progress.

  • Background of manufacturing lines, conveyor systems, automation, robotics, assembly systems, special purpose machines or handling systems.
  • Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.
  • Proactive work ethic and natural problem solver.
  • Excellent time keeper, able to work individually, or part of a team.
  • Proven track record of project management, from concept through to project completion.

Manufacturing Engineer Job Purpose

The Manufacturing Engineer's will be responsible for developments, process enhancements and alteration activities.

Manufacturing Engineer Duties include

  • Supervise and participate in PFMEA activities, across various business teams.
  • Make sure that processes and existing methods of manufacture are proficient.
  • Generate or amend data on the ERP system.
  • Work in a team environment to develop production ideas.
  • Help design and create standard operation procedures.
  • Assist production areas, in resolving technical problems as/when required.
  • Produce KPIs on a regular basis.
  • Analyse manufacturing processes through time motion studies, suggest enhancements.
  • Be involved with Value Stream Mapping and 3P events and contribute in designing and improving single process flow.

Manufacturing Engineer Desired Skills

  • Experience working within a similar role.
  • Aerospace sector experience (2 years or multiple projects preferred).
  • Physical process change experience (NPI, Factory transfer).
  • Capability assessments experience (FAIR/LAIR).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, or accredited lean skills gained within a Six Sigma environment.
  • Able to use Quality tools such as 8D and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Quality Engineer (Contract)

£30 - £35 per hour socialable hours, long term

Quality Engineer (Contract) Job opportunities have become available, within a leading manufacturing business. Located near Coventry, this well-regarded company is offering a competitive hourly rate, for the right engineering professionals.

Purpose of the Quality Engineer role -

To help maintain the quality system on site, work on process development and to assist with transition activities, within the quality area.

Quality Engineer duties include -

  • Analyse data and review process stability and capabilities.
  • As and when required, update/produce Control plans, PFMEA, and process workflow instructions.
  • Assist with product and process continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with all teams on site, to help ensure that the project requirements are in line with the internal Transition Process and this is documented correctly.
  • Investigate quality issues and produce written cause and corrective action responses.
  • Help manage 1st article inspection activities, for new and transition parts.
  • Apply the correct problem-solving tools such as 8D, Ishikawa and 5Y.
  • Assist with both internal and external Quality audits, ensuring compliance to internal, customer and any regulatory standards.
  • Assist with the training of staff (Quality and procedures)
  • Using tools such as SPC/MSA studies, assist with the Identification of key characteristics requirements and processes.

Quality Engineer desirable skills/experience/attributes -

  • Experience in a similar position, within a mechanical engineering environment.
  • Able to read and work from technical information.
  • Experience of working to ISO 9001 / AS9100 systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Tool and Techniques
  • Experience in NPI and Product Transfer (ideally)
  • Self-motivated and pro-active work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering education (ideally Six Sigma trained)
