I manage the Redditch branch of ASC and oversee consultants who focus on permanent and contract Engineering & Manufacturing and Business Support roles. I also support the team recruit for Senior and Executive level positions within these disciplines.

I enjoy being able to provide a full, thorough and consultative service that adds value to employers’ processes, offering them a bespoke recruitment solution. Recruitment is one of the most rewarding industries you can work in, with a wide variety of tasks and people to deal with on a daily basis… there’s rarely a dull moment.

enjoys skiing and going on adventures with my wife and 2 children. Santa Caterina Valfurva, Italy is the best place we've visited. It’s a picture-postcard ski resort.

An interesting fact about me is....

I was sponsored to move to Cairns, Australia, to set up and run an allied health recruitment company.  I stayed for 18 months before returning to the UK to settle with my now wife and children. The company is still going strong.

Field Service Engineer - Mechanical

Up to £24000 per annum Benefits

I am currently working with a market leading company in the supply of heavy duty workshop solutions. This company supply heavy duty vehicle lifting machinery and brake testing systems, due to currently undergoing a substantial period of growth they are seeking a Field Service Engineer based in the Stoke and Derby areas.

The Field Service Engineer will travel to different sites on a day to day basis carrying out maintenance, installations, servicing and repairs on heavy duty vehicle lifts used in the bus, truck and coach industries.

As Field Service Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance, testing and inspections on heavy duty vehicle lifts.
  • Reactive maintenance and repairs on heavy duty vehicle lifting systems.
  • Travelling to customer sites on a day to day basis ensuring their needs are catered for to a high standard.
  • Giving aftersales support and advice based on the client's needs.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Hands-on experience working in a mechanical service/maintenance type role.
  • Experience working in a workshop/garage environment.
  • Experience working on motor vehicles and or heavy duty vehicles.
  • A full, clean UK driving license.

Injection Moulding Technician / Process Engineer

£30000 - £35000 per annum

This leading Trade Moulder and Toolmaker, offering a quality service to various markets including Medical and Automotive is currently seeking an Injection Moulding Technician / Process Engineer to join their team.

As Injection Moulding Technician/Process Engineer, your duties will include -

  • Managing the technical sampling side of the production process, ensuring the sampling process is undertaken within a systematic, timely manner with a quality focused approach.
  • Overseeing and supporting production changes, tool changes, automation, robotics and machine troubleshooting including taking a lean on process optimisation. Ensuring the machines are operated at an acceptable standard and within the set and costed cycle time.
  • Delivering the agreed sampling targets through clear communication of works order sampling expectations, monitoring and appraising job results, process development, coaching, mentoring, initiating, co-ordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures in line with agreements, policies and business derivatives.

To be successful in the role of Injection Moulding / Process Engineer, the ideal Candidate will -

  • Be experienced with Injection moulding and assembly techniques
  • Have detailed technical knowledge of problem solving techniques including the ability to analyse and resolve any process problems.
  • Have previous experience of tool and material trialling
  • Have experience of Automation and robotics

Based near Middleton, this role is commutable from Bolton, Huddersfield, Manchester, and Hyde.

Injection Moulding Setter Technician

£25000 - £30000 per annum

As Injection Moulding Setter, your duties will include -

  • Carry out tool changes, material and colour changes
  • Condition setting of machines
  • Ensure all robotics and ancillary equipment are in operation
  • Maintaining a safe, neat and tidy work area
  • Recommend modifications/ improvements to increase productivity, improve quality and/or reduce waste
  • Liaise with Production Team Leader for production priorities
  • To promote, maintain and action 5S and lean management activities within relevant areas
  • Trouble shoot processes and correct as necessary with documentation as required

To be successful in the role of Injection Moulding Setter, the ideal candidate will -

  • Be an experienced Injection Moulding Setter or Technician
  • Be able to set from scratch
  • Have experience with process optimisation
  • Have experience with a variety of materials
  • Be skilled in trouble shooting
  • Be able to carry out basic machine maintenance
  • Have a strong interest in lean manufacturing / process improvement and want to help take the business forward.

Based near Rochdale, this role is commutable from Bolton, Huddersfield, Manchester, and Hyde.

Injection Moulding Setter Technician

£28000 - £35000 per annum

This well-established trade moulder is currently looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Setter Technician on a double days basis to join their business, contributing to the commercial aims of the business through tool development, polymer selection, production quality improvement, and continuous improvement programs.

As Injection Moulding Setter Technician, your duties will include -

  • Ensuring all existing jobs run using best practice to achieve optimum conditions and achieve commercial margins.
  • Identifying route cause of problems and highlight to the relevant manager and/or apply the right corrective actions.
  • Identifying actions and deliver results (in agreement with the Operations Manager) for continuous improvement opportunities of the production processes in order to reduce dependence on labour and improvement product yields.
  • Effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders any development processes to ensure smooth hand over of all new tooling into production.
  • Ensuring all process data, working instructions and visual aids are maintained and fully up-to-date
  • Ensuring that all risk assessment of all machinery and equipment is undertaken on a regular basis, with correct personnel against defined procedures.
  • Assisting on customer sites for trials and development
  • Identifying and reporting causes of tooling and plant failure, then inform appropriate departments for corrective actions to be implemented

For this role the ideal Candidate will have -

  • A solid track record within Injection Moulding, and likely to hold the job title of Injection Moulding Setter, Technician, or Process Engineer
  • Experience with a range of machinery, robots, ancillary equipment, and materials
  • Formal training by a recognised industry body such as G&A, BPTA, etc.
  • Much experience within process optimisation to drive down costs by reducing scrap and improving processes.
  • Experience of NPI and Tool trialling
  • Experience of basic machine maintenance
  • Experience in trouble shooting, including working with the machine room to resolve tooling issues.

Based just north of Portsmouth this role is commutable from Southampton, Worthing, Winchester and Liphook.

Injection Mould Toolmaker

Days shift 8-4 Mon-Thur, 8-1.30 Fri

This leading manufacturer of technical plastics is currently seeking an Injection Moulding Toolmaker to join their team.

Working within a busy tool room, consisting of mostly CNC machinery with some conventional machines, your duties as Toolmaker will include-

  • Making technically complex tools (up to c500kgs) and inserts from hardened steel
  • Repair and maintenance of tools


To be successful in this role of Injection Moulding Toolmaker, the ideal candidate will -

  • Have experience as an Injection mould toolmaker
  • Have experience with CNC machining
  • Be experienced with CADCAM

Injection Moulding Technician

£30000 - £35000 per annum

This well-established manufacturer specialising in hygiene products has grown from strength to strength, and is experiencing a much increased demand for their products in the current environment.

Because of this they are looking for experienced Injection Moulding Technicians to join their team in East Sussex. Opportunities exist working either on a 3 shift (earlies, lates, and nights) or continental basis.

As Injection Moulding Technician, your key duties will include -

  • Supporting the moulding facilities across the group with training, problem solving and hands on involvement with tool trials and general setting as required.
  • Assisting with the introduction of new products, tooling and equipment.
  • Leading lean improvement initiatives to improve product quality and process efficiency. This will include leading and implementing VSM, 6s, SMED, TPM, Kaizen, and other initiatives.
  • Working closely with the Production Managers and Setters to implement process improvements to injection moulding, eliminate waste and improve product flow.

To be successful in the role of Moulding Technician, the ideal Candidate will -

  • Be highly experienced in injection moulding setting with excellent plastics knowledge
  • Have previous demonstrable experience of lean manufacturing and process optimisation
  • Have a good understanding of tooling/tool making

Based near Peacehaven, this role is commutable from Brighton, Crawley, Eastbourne and Crowborough.

On offer

Working for this forward thinking company that is undergoing expansion, a salary of £30-35k is on offer, along with 4% pension, 31 days holiday (incl. of bank holidays), and the opportunity for further training and development.

Hours - Shifts available are either 3 shift (06:30 - 15:00 / 14:30 - 23:00 / 22:30 - 07:00) or continental, 4 on 4 off, days and nights rotating.
