Injection Moulding Setter Technician

This expanding business specialising in products for the technology market is currently seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Setter Technician to join their business, working on a Double days basis (one week earlies, one week lates) Monday-Friday.

As Injection Moulding Setter Technician, you will be working in a busy Mouldshop (machines range from 70-500T). Your duties will include -
* Setting machines from scratch
* Carrying out tool trials
* Trouble shooting machine/process issues
* Quality checks

To be successful in the role of Injection Moulding Setter Technician, the ideal candidate will -
* Be able to set from scratch and will have experience of Tool Trialling
* Be confident with trouble shooting
* Have experience with carrying out first off/last off checks
* Be self-sufficient and able to work confidently alone when required
* Have experience with a range of engineering/commodity plastics

Injection Moulding Process Engineer

£35000 - £40000 per annum benefits

This growing manufacturer of medical devices is currently seeking an Injection Moulding Process Engineer to join their team.

As a Plastics Process Engineer, your duties will include -

  • Running and development of tooling and processes for extrusion and injection moulding machinery.
  • Providing first-line support to Production for process and equipment issues.
  • Responsibility for creating User Requirement Specifications and Functional Design Specifications for capital expenditure, business purchases, and other business needs such as tools and fixtures.
  • Sourcing, procurement, and commissioning and installation and operational qualification of equipment (IQOQ and all required IQOQ outputs), tools, and fixtures, which may include FAT, SAT and DQ.
  • Responsible for generating scientific protocols and reports and other quality system documentation.
  • Conducting process development and validation in accordance with the requirements of the QMS and any specified customer requirements, and Health & Safety legal requirements, including full documentation of all trials and validations.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining documents such as work instructions, production work instructions in draft, pFMEA, risk assessments, SSOW's (Safe Systems of Work) training, etc.
  • Provide expertise to NPD and other departments as required with support for new product introductions and new technologies, sample builds and building jigs.
  • Develop and validate inspection and testing techniques and equipment where required for process development and validation.
  • Responsible for training departments for processes and equipment use.

To be successful in the role of Plastics Process Engineer, the ideal Candidate will -

  • Have significant experience with plastics processing, either Injection Moulding or Extrusion, as a Process Engineer
  • Come from a medical devices or pharmaceutical background ideally with working to ISO13485 QMS
  • Have experience of process development and validation and understand the dependencies in a validation project.

Injection Moulding Setter Technician

This well-established plastics products manufacturer is currently seeking a Nightshift Injection Moulding Technician working Monday-Friday.

Working within a large but clean mouldshop, your duties will include -

  • Changing tools
  • Condition setting machines
  • Trouble shooting any moulding or process issues
  • Process optimisation

To be eligible for the role of Injection Moulding Setter Tech, the ideal Candidate -

  • Must have a significant amount of experience in Injection Moulding
  • Will ideally have training from an industry recognised body
  • Must be able to tool change, condition set, and trouble shoot.
  • Ideally will have worked with a range of machines including Krauss Maffei and Fanuc, and have an appreciation of robots.

Injection Moulding Setter

This leading manufacturer of plastic products is currently seeking an Injection Moulding Setter to join their busy team, being responsible for the Setting and Operating of Moulding Machines within your section and assisting in completing orders on time at the correct quality and cost.

As Injection Moulding Setter - your duties will include -

  • Produce Products to the correct quality, specifications and procedures, and to the required quantity and date, referring to the Loading Plan.
  • Condition setting and tool changing
  • Ensure that all material used is that requested on the works order and is in good condition at all times.
  • Liaising with all members of the Department to ensure operations run smoothly.
  • Reporting to the Supervisor any defects on equipment or mouldings.
  • Carrying out tool changes
  • Assisting in the cleaning, packing and sorting of products, part batching when necessary.
  • Assisting the Section Leader in maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

To be successful in the role of Injection Moulding Setter, the ideal Candidate will -

  • Be experienced within Injection mould setting
  • Be able to give details examples of process optimisation projects they have been involved in
  • Have experience with a range of materials and machines
  • Have experience of hot runners

Suitable Candidates for this role are likely to already hold the title of Injection Moulding Setter, Injection Moulding Technician, or Process Technician.

Injection Moulding Quality Manager

£35000 - £45000 per annum Benefits

Due to expansion this market leading specialist in injection moulding and toolmaking for a range of industries including Electronics and Automotive are currently seeking a Quality Manager to join their team.

As Quality Manager, your duties will include -

  • Liaising with customers with new projects once placed- covering all aspects from tooling, injection moulding, sampling and assembly techniques.
  • Day to day support with polymer related/processing/tooling related issues
  • Trouble shooting with processing/moulding for the above with ability to implement corrective action plans where needed
  • Technical meetings with customers

To be successful in the role of Quality Manager, the ideal candidate will have -

  • A hands-on Quality Engineering background within an Injection moulding environment
  • An engineering qualification, preferably with a plastics/polymer bias
  • Customer communication skills and ability to communicate to senior roles within the company and at customer level (all levels)
  • ISIR/PPAP/8D knowledge and strong engineering/polymer background (PP/PC/ABS/PA/PPS/HIPS/PBT)

Injection Moulding Setter Supervisor

£28000 - £33500 per annum Benefits

This leading manufacturer of products to the technology sector is currently looking for an Injection Moulding Setter Supervisor to join their team, working on a 3 shift basis (rotating weeks of earlies, lates, and nights). This role is responsible for supervising the Injection Moulding Department to ensure that tool and machine setting, production efficiencies and quality control are carried out to a high standard.

As injection Moulding Setter Supervisor your duties will include -

  • Carry out tool changes and set machine process using best practice and in accordance with health and safety procedures.
  • Conduct trials of new tools to achieve optimum performance
  • Train operators to perform start up, shut down and problem analysis procedures
  • Provide hands on process support (some out of hours call out)
  • Minimise machine downtime, scrap and other material wastage
  • Optimise setting conditions
  • Obtain first and last off approval samples
  • Maintain quality throughout production run
  • Liaise with Manager and operators to identify and categorise production deficiencies
  • Responsible for care and low-level maintenance of both machines and tools (to agreed limits)
  • Liaise Maintenance team to arrange advanced levels of maintenance and repairs
  • Create and control master setting sheets
  • Control and display of production and quality instructions
  • To oversee shifts giving technical training where needed
  • Produce procedures where necessary to ensure a 1 way of working mentality
  • Schedule the machines to achieve customer requirements and on time delivery
  • Liaise with engineers regarding tooling issues and/or improvements
  • Identify and carry out any continuous improvement projects within the injection Moulding area
  • To attend team briefings and supply daily data at department meetings to planning and production / logistics for effective supply chain and achievement of department targets.

To be successful in the role of Injection Moulding Setter Supervisor, the ideal candidate will -

  • Have previous experience within an injection moulding environment, able to set machines from scratch
  • Have a logical and process driven approach to trouble shooting
  • Have previous experience supervising a team
  • Have an excellent understanding of health & safety requirements.
