I am a recruitment specialist and recruitment manager with 17 years experience specialising in the recruitment of professionals across Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics and Merchandising. Over the years I have managed many recruitment campaigns for a wide range of SME's and large businesses across the UK. 

I started ASC in 2011 working soley within the Supply Chain and Procurement sector. Since then I have built a team of specialist consultants who provide a permanent and contract recruitment service for the sector.

Production Planning Manager

A Production Planning Manager position has become available to work for a manufacturer that specialises in the manufacturing of parts and accessories to the automotive industry.

Production Planning Manager role -

To be the key position in the business to ensure that all production plans are managed effectively to ensure that all production plans are met and customer requirements fulfilled.

Duties to include -

  • Effective management, training and mentoring of the Production Planning Team.
  • Ensure a robust rolling production schedule to meet customer needs and demands ion line with Budgets and where possible under budget
  • Working with Suppliers to ensure a smooth flow of raw materials to the site.
  • Effective inventory/stock management at all times so that no production runs are delayed due to the lack of material.

Production Planning Manager desirable skills/experience/attributes -

  • Previous experience of managing a similar function within a manufacturing facility.
  • You will be a strong manager of people with the ability to lead from the front whilst training and mentoring your team members to perform at a high level within each of their jobs.
  • Knowledge of MRP and ERP systems. It would be advantageous to have experience using SAP.

Responsibilities

Skills and experience

A leading 3PL organisation are recruiting a shift manager for one of their flagship distribution centres based in Cambridgeshire. You will manage a team within an E-fulfilment/Retail distribution centre and have experience as a shift manager within a fast moving, challenging environment.

The Job

  • You will supervise and motivate your team to ensure all delivery standard and deadlines are achieved.
  • Ensure you have the correct level of resource, i.e. staffing levels appropriate to match operational demands.
  • Manage your team to ensure all KPI's are met.

Experience Required

Inventory Systems Engineer

Inventory Systems Engineer (Contract) Job opportunities have become available, within a leading manufacturing business. Located near Coventry, this well-regarded company is offering a competitive hourly rate, for the right engineering professionals.

Inventory Systems Engineer role -

To lead the development, support and implementation of systems for inventory management, production planning and capacity planning in the SAP MRP

Inventory Systems Engineer duties include -

  • Develop the overall supply chain systems to optimise inventory levels including the development of the Sales Inventory and Operations planning processes (SIOP)
  • Develop systems to consolidate sales and demand forecasts from the demand planners, business development, MRO and NPI to produce a rolling factory demand schedule
  • Support monthly SIOP, factory and capacity review meetings with key business development personnel and operations management
  • Develop, maintain and support business development functions in determining lead times, minimum/maximum order and pack sizes and manage the MRP system to support these.
  • Design and develop effective planning systems for low value parts implementing where practical call-off, consignment and Kanban systems
  • Develop and maintain a robust inventory obsolescence and reduction process including the maintenance of master data settings and order modification
  • Support the demand planning team in the implementation of the plans, and the maintenance of the price lists.
  • Carry out special duties as assigned.

Inventory Systems Engineer desirable skills/experience/attributes -

  • HND or degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject area or relevant experience.
  • Experience in forecasting, material requirement management, inventory management, logistics management, or a customer supporting role is required.
  • Familiarity with ERP software applications (SAP, Forecasting Systems).
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, complemented by the ability to prioritise workload with attention to detail and a sense of timeliness.
  • Strong PC skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • National and international travel may be required for Customer visits.

A global automotive business based in Birmingham is recruiting for an analyst to work within their commercial division. The successful candidate will assist and support the business in analysing sales data to enable clearer sales forecasting. You will analyse data from Microsoft Excel and deliver your findings to the business in a clear and concise format to enable the sales teams to enhance and further grow the business.

The Role

  • Using Microsoft Excel, you will analyse data from the customer base, including historical sales data to look for sales patterns.
  • Predict sales forecasting and future projections on sales and volume.
  • Produce a wide range of reports for the business including brand and market analysis and sales reports.
  • Lead presentations to key managers within the business in relation to your analytical findings, mostly within a Microsoft Powerpoint format.
  • Continually develop business tools and reporting systems to drive more accurate forecasting.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an analyst is essential. It would be an advantage to have worked within a large, complex retail environment. However, you can have worked within a smaller business as long as there were high levels of SKU's or product lines.
  • Microsoft Excel skills with experience of pivot tables, complex formulas and v look-ups are essential.
  • You will need to have the ability to turn your data into a format easily understood by the business.
  • You will need to have strong communication and presentation skills and to be comfortable talking to a room of people.
  • Experienced in using Microsoft PowerPoint as you will regularly use this to present your findings.
  • Ability to travel both the UK and abroad.

Project Buyer

INTERIM PROJECT BUYER SPEAKER NEEDED!

3 MONTH CONTRACT: STRONG CHANCE OF FURTHER EXTENSIONS BEYOND THIS.

Are you an experienced Buyer or Senior Buyer looking for your next contract or interim assignment? Are you experienced in low volume, high-Value manufacturing procurement? You will be based out of their Worcestershire office but will need to work out of their Luton facility a couple of days per week.

The company is a successful manufacturing business with multiple sites across the UK and a specialist in automation for a range of industries including the automotive industry.

You will be responsible for:

  • As the buyer, you will procure a range of bespoke items related to manufacturing. These will be mostly low volume, high-value parts and components.
  • Negotiation on cost whilst ensuring product quality standard is met and improved where possible.
  • Working with customers and suppliers forging strong procurement relationships and where appropriate assisting them with their procurement strategies.
  • Research, generation, selection and management of new suppliers.

  • Worked as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within a manufacturing, production or engineering environment.
  • Managed project spends from £100k to £2 million.
