This leading Tooling Company is currently seeking a Toolroom Manager to manage the production of new Mould Tooling and modification, maintenance and repair of existing Tooling.
Assisting the Managing Director the role will be responsible for the in the day-to-day management and operation of the toolroom and ensuring the safety of staff at all times. Leading by example, you will be able to motivate a team of people and set them clear objectives and responsibilities.
You will also be required to train, develop and mentor all toolroom employees, and ensure they maintain tooling in accordance with all drawings and comply with relevant H&S procedures. This will include ensuring this facility complies with all Health & Safety, Human Resource, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures, and appropriate regulations and standards are being adhered to.
As Toolroom Manager, your duties will include -
Distributing the flow of work through the toolroom to the relevant skilled staff, including the ordering of raw materials, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules and resolving problems as and when they arise.
Working alongside the Senior toolmaker and designer to resolve technical issues in a prompt and professional manner
Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
Ensuring key toolroom performance targets (KPI's) are being met and assist in collating relevant data
Producing & collate risk assessments, safe systems of work and work instructions by working with and liaising with employees in small teams in compliance with company policy.
Playing a part in the company's continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth of the Company.
Oversee and visit partner tool maker in China to maintain high standards of Chinese tool manufacturing destined for UK mouldshops.
To be successful in the role of Toolroom Manager, the ideal candidate -
Will be a time-served Toolmaker with a background in Injection Mould Tooling.
Will have experience of Manging a Toolroom, however applications are welcome from Toolroom foremen, Supervisors and Team-leaders.
Will have experience of working with both CNC and Conventional machinery.
Will have a background in both new tooling and maintenance/repair.
