A service engineer position has become available with a leading OEM of steel processing machinery.

Part of a group of companies, they specialize in providing automation and processing solutions to clients across various manufacturing sectors. They have a head office here in the UK for machine storage, refurbishment and distribution, as well as a global headquarters in Europe where the machines are built.
Responsibilities for the role include -
Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance & Service of machines and equipment
Using Siemens S7 to fault find and interrogate
Routine service, checks and breakdown maintenance both mechanical and electrical
Part of a team of 10 engineers, primarily covering the midlands and north west of the UK, but prepared to travel nationally & Ireland when required
Completing factory acceptance tests and audits before during and after installations
Providing end user support to customers as well as training and demo's
Use of laptop to complete all service and maintenance documentation, and to submit timesheets / expenses

There is a robust training package with this role too, working for an OEM they offer product training in the UK, and overseas in Europe after the probation period is completed
Nationwide travel is expected at times, however the business do aim to keep engineers as regional as possible.
To be successful in this role you will have - - Previous experience as a field service engineer working for a similar OEM of laser, cutting or press machinery - Multi skilled both mechanically and electrically, along with electrical training ideally to city & guilds or equivalent. - Have a solid understanding of PLC's to fault find on inputs and outputs - Willingness to travel nationally and show flexibility when required - Full clean drivers license
The business are prepared to be as flexible and supportive as possible, overnight stays and extensive travel is ideally kept to a minimum, but the business requires an individual who is prepared to do both when necessary. In return the company can be equally flexible when needing time off or working around other engagements
