Manufacturing Operations Manager

A leading global manufacturer of safety critical components for a number of key applications including Aerospace & Automotive is looking to recruit an experienced, results driven and ambitious Manufacturing Operations Manager to join their team.

Purpose of Role:

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will lead, manage and train the Manufacturing/Production facility including Planning, Logistics and Assembly to achieve 100% OTIF delivery of customer orders.

You will drive World Class practices through lean activities & achieving defined business goals/targets.

Skills / Experience/ Person Attributes:

* Proven experience of leading manufacturing / assembly teams delivering world class production in a busy and challenging environment
* Experience in a global / international business is advantageous
* Experience with Unions & associated negotiations
* Training & development of personnel in achieving manufacturing excellence

* Hands-on working on shop-floor improvement projects
* Demonstrable success using manufacturing planning & materials replenishment techniques.
* Lean technique implementation
* Pro-Active always looking to develop career further
* Demonstrated achievement of both personal & business goals
* Ability to influence others at all levels of the organisation

Responsibilities:

* Meeting delivery targets including Warranty/Quality levels, Product / Overhead costs & Inventory control.
* Drive World Class practices through lean activities to achieve defined business goals/targets.
* Drive response times to attain World Class levels of product availability and On-Time Performance targets measured against required delivery dates.
* Manage inventory levels to meet company targets though the continued development & expansion of material control systems including Kanban processes.
* Drive down costs including both material & plant overheads through a structured process.
* Supervise quality improvements throughout manufacturing & supply base.
* Develop plant layouts and implement/oversee changes without affecting customer deliveries.
* Manage and develop the workforce; represent the company in Union negotiations.
