ASC Connections are currently recruiting for a Sub-Contract Works Manager, working within a busy Sub-Contract Tool room based in the West Midlands area. This is a permanent position with a 12 week probation period and the prospect of moving into a directorship role with the next 3 years. Our client works 38 hour per week, normal hours are 8.00am till 4:00pm Monday to Thursday with a 3:30pm finish on Friday. Paying between £45-50k per annum depending on experience.

The company

Our client is a sub-contract tool room producing precision metal parts for a variety of markets including Automotive, Domestic, Electronic and many more.

The main duties for the Sub-Contract Works Manager role includes:

* Planning and organising production schedules for all sub-contract Toolroom jobs, including design and press tools
* Assessing project and resource requirements
* Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers
* Construct commercially viable development strategies for the future plan of the business
* Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met
* Determining quality control standards
* Overseeing production processes
* Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
* Selecting, ordering and purchasing materials
* Liaising with buyers and marketing and sales staff
* Supervising the work of junior staff and apprentices
* organising relevant training sessions

You will have the following skills for the Sub-Contract Works Manager role

* Must have managed or supervised within a busy Sub-Contract toolroom with at least 5-10 years' experience of Press and Design Tooling
* Confident Team leader with experience of strategic level decision making
* Proven experience of developing business
