A Quality Manager position has just become available for a specialist business, that manage mechanical handling equipment within the Automotive sector. Located in Birmingham, this well regarded business will be paying a starting salary of £35,000 (negotiable) package, to the successful Engineering professional. Progression opportunities are available, for professionals at the Engineer level.

Quality Manager responsibilities include -

* Develop and support quality requirements on site.
* Achieve the level of quality, required to meet with customer expectations.
* Implement internal audits, ensuring conformance to company processes, resolve issues and implement corrective action plans to help improve quality.
* Support the company, ensuring that products and processes comply with the relevant procedures.
* Work closely with the manufacturing department, ensuring alignment towards a continuous improvement in quality performance.
* Manage inbound and outbound quality inspection, of items and productions.
* Ensure that non-conformances and any repeat quality issues are communicated and documented correctly.
* Strive to drive continuous improvement on site
* Conduct supplier audits as and when required.
* Provide knowledge and application of standards for quality, engineering and the manufacturing area.
* Ensure that the business complies with requirements, so that the ISO 9001 standards/certification/accreditation is met and correctly maintained.

Quality Manager desirable skills/experience/attributes -

* Experience working within a similar role.
* Good understanding of standards such as ISO 9001, EN1090 and Achilles.
* CQA (Customer quality assurance) experience.
* Experience driving continuous quality improvement, within the manufacturing environment.
* Auditing knowledge and/or experience.
* Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.
* Proactive work ethic and natural problem solver.
* Relevant Engineering education.
