ASC Connections are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi- Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work for well renowned steel manufactures based in Sandwell. Our client are looking for a professional candidate who has at least 5 years' experience conducting repairs and fact finding faults on Robotic welds, Sheraing Lines and Power Presses used for the manufacturing of parts for the automotive industry. The role is paying between £13-£15 per hour depending on experience, with other financial benefits included.



The main duties for the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role include:

1 Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults
2 Ensure that equipment is in good working order so as to prevent disruption of activities
3 Diagnosing breakdown problems
4 Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly
5 Carrying out quality inspections on jobs
6 Liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues
7 Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components
8 Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment
9 Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs
10 Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
11 Improving health and safety policies and procedures
12 Working with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on factory assembly lines
13 Ensuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns
14 Knowledge of PLCs, preferably Siemens S5, S7 and Allen Bradley
15 Knowledge of Profibus and other networks
16 Understanding of Inverter and DC drives
17 Experience of Press lines with conveyors and stackers for the sheet metal industry in automotive



You must have the following experience for the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role:



1 Use the CMMS system to log all machine downtime data
2 Maintain the engineering stores system and order spares
3 Liaise with customers and suppliers as appropriate
4 Liaise with other areas of the business as required
5 Support the rest of the business in Continuous Improvement activity
6 First Line reactive maintenance
