Health & Safety Co-Ordinator

A global manufacturer of safety critical components is looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Co-Ordinator to join their team.

Purpose of Role:

The Health & Safety Co-Ordinator will be responsible for managing day to day H&S issues.

You will ensure all standards & procedures are valid and up to date to support continuing accreditation and inform other plants within the business of all H&S updates.

The Successful Candidate:

* Minimum 3 years background in HSE in a manufacturing environment
* NEBOSH / IOSH qualification
* Proven track record of improving health and safety culture
* Lead/Internal Auditing
* Conducting accreditation audit with external bodies.
* Knowledge of Hazard Management principles.
* Ability to investigate accidents and make recommendations for preventative actions.
* Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
* Current drivers licence to enable travel to other plants.



Responsibilities Overview:



* Coordinate the implementation of the Occupational Health & Safety Management plan and monitor compliance
* Chair regular HSE meetings.
* Maintain a register of accidents & injuries and provide an analysis at Health and Safety Committee meetings on a monthly basis, identifying emerging risks in the workplace.
* Coordinate the successful completion of actions, by monitoring agreed timelines and dates of corrective actions.
* Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs to support Health and Safety.
* Ensure new equipment is safe/stable and provides good ergonomic design for operators.
* New project review prior to introduction within Plant, ensuring all HSE topics are covered.
* Develop training programs on H&S issues including hazard management, accident investigation, manual handling and fire safety.
* Improve personnel understanding of HSE on shop floor e.g. Development of Toolbox Tools, Safety training and drills are performed and planned as part of the company's HSE program
* Contractor management
* Support the Fire safety requirement of the business.
* Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on health & safety matters.
* Audits:

Coordinate OH&S audit schedule and reporting of outcomes.

Conduct OH&S system audits to ensure compliance to system and policies

Maintain audit documentation and records

Provision of audit reports to management
