A renowned automotive manufacturer require an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Birmingham, working Monday - Friday 08:00 - 4:00pm.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Overall Objective and Purpose of the Position

To provide experienced electrical maintenance and new installation skills to support a fast moving 24 hour automotive production facility whilst taking a leading role in identifying and installing plant / process improvements and general facilities work

Responsibilities

1

Servicing and maintaining all plant equipment.

For information machinery / equipment includes: Plastic Injection moulding machines / Robot arm / solder & welding machines / hot dip process

Hands on response to breakdowns - fault diagnosis - repair & return to production in optimum time

3

Specifying and obtaining parts & equipment required from suppliers

4

Liaison with Production and undertaking required scheduled preventative maintenance

5

Monitoring stock of critical spares equipment

6

Coordinate work performed by external contractors when required

7

Helping to create TPM / general maintenance procedures

8

Ensuring best practice, housekeeping, Health & Safety Policies and legislative requirements are adhered to at all times

9

Good understanding of OEE ( the effects of process availability) and 5S methodology

10

Completing engineering project tasks and identifying/making improvements to existing equipment as appropriate.

Installing & relocating new equipment

12

Maintenance work will also be required to the facilities / fixtures & fittings

13

Working alongside and learning from other skilled maintenance engineers to provide a team effort









Candidate Specification

Qualifications



· City and Guilds Level 3 2330 or newer

· City and Guilds Inspect and Test 2395

· NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation

· Gold JIB Electricians Card(not essential)

· Previous experience in similar roles and ideally a portfolio of works

Experience

· Can demonstrate experience of successfully working in a similar role

· Demonstrate electrical fault finding capability, assessment and repair

· Good knowledge of quality problem solving tools and techniques

· Experience within manufacturing industry essential (automotive preferred)

What are the key competencies required to be successful in this role?

· The ideal candidate should be extremely motivated, with a 'can do' approach

· Strong knowledge of engineering concepts (electrical/mechanical/hydraulic systems)

· Able to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively

· Flexible as shift times may vary

· Excellent communication skills with colleagues of all levels

· Ability to interpret and analyse drawings, technical documents and measurement data.

· Fully PC literate
