ASC Connections are recruiting for an experienced Machine Tool Fitter for a foundry based in the West Midlands area. Responsible for providing all round mechanical and electrical maintenance to a range of steel processing machines including CNC Machine Tools, Furnaces, Bores, Lathes and Cranes up to 30 Tonne. Permanent position working alternate weekly mornings and afternoons 6am-2pm Monday- Friday Days and 12pm-8pm Monday- Friday Afternoons, working 40hrs per week. Salary for the role is £29,000 - £33,000 per annum depending on experience with a £30 per week shift allowance.

Full duties for the Machine Tool Fitter role include:

* Providing multi skilled mechanical/ electrical maintenance to a range of CNC's, Capstan Lathes, Centre Lathes and Vertical Bores.
* Fault find, repair and replacement parts to hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
* Continuous improvement of PPM schedules and general efficiency of the machines.
* Ordering of spares and consumables for the department.
* Welding and fabrication of machine bases, safety guards and framework as required
* Any other duties as required.

Applicants should have the following skills set for the Maintenance Tool Fitter role:

* Hold a city & guilds level 2 qualification in mechanical/ Electrical engineering and possess a strong background within maintenance of production machinery, ideally within the steel industry.
* A knowledge of Manual and CNC Machine Tools, along with a background in Foundry environments.
* Applicant MUST also have a forward thinking attitude, with the willingness to contribute ideas towards continuous improvement, health & safety and machine upkeep.
* Must also possess good pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance skills, have strong communication skills and also be PC literate.
