This successful and well-established manufacturer of plastic products is currently seeking a hands-on Lead Maintenance Engineer to manage the maintenance engineering activities on site.

As a member of the engineering management team reporting into the Operations Director, you will produce maximum up time using engineering standards in the most efficient method possible. The role is both inwardly and outwardly facing. You will coach, mentor direct reports and colleagues to improve the overall engineering, quality and service by leading at the front and showing engineers the best way to make things happen effectively and efficiently.

As Lead Maintenance Engineer duties will include -

* Actively manage with colleagues all engineering functions to ensure maintenance standards are delivered through best practice. Implement and deliver an engineering continuous improvement strategy across all areas of the business. Review current Practices with a view to challenging/improving the Status Quo.
* Plan and co-ordinate schedule of preventative maintenance for equipment, machinery, tools and/or buildings in conjunction with other Managers and Supervisors.
* Budgetary controls; Must be exacting with a plan in place to deliver year on year savings
* Managing a team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.

Candidates suitable for this role will likely hold the job title, Maintenance Supervisor, Lead Engineer, Maintenance Manager, or Senior Maintenance Engineer.

To be successful in the role of Lead Maintenance Engineer, the ideal Candidate will -

* Have experience of managing a team of engineers (circa 5-10 people).
* Have experience of working within a plastics manufacturing environment (i.e. injection moulding, blow moulding, Compression moulding, etc).
* Be multi-skilled (mechanical and electrical) and still be hands-on.
* Have experience of improvement programmes.
* Have knowledge of SAP planned maintenance.
