An Area Manager position has just become available for a well-regarded manufacturing business, located in the Barnsley area. Known as one of the market leaders, this business will be paying a starting salary of £30,000 (negotiable) package, to the successful Engineering professional.

Area Manager responsibilities -

* Efficiently organise and utilise staff, in line with compliance, product quality and cost requirements.
* Measure, report and manage key performance indicators.
* Maintain excellent build quality, to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction.
* Adhere to ISO 9001/ISO14001 standards.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of new procedures.
* Accurately document records in the company's manufacturing system, including accurate stock transactions and cycle/stock checks.
* Develop and maintain processes, to achieve excellent housekeeping standards, throughout the Production and Logistics sectors.
* Help drive lean manufacturing and promote the use of Quality tools and new methods/practices.
* Train staff, in line with new methods and practices being introduced.
* Make sure company procedures are adhered to at all times.
* Assist with the line managers sectors, when absent.
* Organise and arrange overtime hours.

Area Manager desirable skills/experience/attributes -

* Experience working within a similar role, or relevant Manufacturing Engineering education.
* Experience in staff management and motivating others.
* Well organised, able to work to tight time scales and under pressure.
* Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.
* Proactive work ethic.
* Computer literate with MS and manufacturing software systems.
