Account Manager - Permanent role

* £45k with OTE of £60k-£70k company car
* Field based role covering the Midlands and the South and Head Office based in Southampton
* Suitable for someone with proven sales experience with a solid work history
* Experience working in the fuel or convenience sector
* Able to build accounts from the ground up
* Happy to travel

My client is a leading technology company that specialises in electronic payment systems.



Job Description:

* To create new opportunities in the general retail market with their Retail services, products and solutions, into existing customer base
* To generate sales of new projects, software and services
* To continue to manage service contract business with account and customer management, including working with business operations to report on performance.
* To assist with the marketing strategy, including exhibitions, PR and trade advertising. To assist with stands and exhibitions with recommendations
* To review products and market focus including research into demographics and competitors and a key understanding of how products will fit with the business model.
* To adhere to the internal administrative reporting implemented by the Sales team
* To attend Sales Meetings and cluster meetings
* To implement a clear strategy into each of the key accounts allocated
* To engage with customers to fully understand their requirements/expectations and to be able to communicate these to the internal technical team.
* To participate in high level discussions, both internal and external, so that market offering can be improved and evolved to provide a platform for sustainable competitive advantage
* Be able to network and develop key relationship both internally and externally.
* To act as a product leader within the company
* Prepare, review and distribute reports, feedback analysis and other marketing date to relevant key personnel and conduct market research on a regular basis by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.

The Successful Applicant:

* Experience in the fuel and convenience sector with and understanding of the epos systems
* Understanding of key stake holders and knowledge of loyalty solutions
* Understanding of card payments solutions
* Experience in selling to tier 1 & 2 business at multi-levels
* Show strong presentation skills at all levels
* Ability to disrupt a sales scale and challenge the norm
* Ability to understand customer business needs to provide value add contribution to the customers team and business, becoming a trusted adviser
* Strong negotiating skills, understanding how to counter argue a rejection in a positive message
* Leading by example as team player willing to go the extra mile to help the business continue to succeed
* Self-sufficient, an ability to resolve customer issues by navigating the departments and building relationships to deliver quick results
* Proven track record of over achieving quota
* Ability to manage a single account with long sales cycles
* Willingness to travel UK and global when called upon
