Job Description

Sales Manager / Leader to manage the respective sales function; from sales advisers to account managers. Ensuring that targets are met in terms of sales efficiency, profitability and highest levels of customer satisfaction.

This is a hands on sales role, once you have established yourself with the team and developed product and solution knowledge you will be required to lead by example, contributing to sales targets with a specific interest in new business.

Key Responsibilities:

Part of the senior management team and taking a "whole company" perspective to manage issues; actively promoting best practice throughout the company; including the general running, setting targets, minimising risks, maximising opportunities, achieving the department targets and seeking to positively influence the progression and growth of the company

Sales Manager Role:

Responsible for managing the sales function to ensure best practices are followed, costs are controlled, the department maximises revenue generation and contribution to company's operating profit and increases the value added to the company.

  • Keep up-to-date on your understanding of Sage/Act/Exact products, processes and key business messages
  • Keep up-to-date with competitors activities and initiatives alongside customer trends
  • Manage the sales team to identify opportunities to maximise sales productivity
  • Pro-actively follow up on agreed actions and activities within sales team
  • Work with your sales team to achieve team KPI's
  • Sales team one-to-ones, coaching and feedback sessions, training and development activity
  • Lead, motivate, communicate with, develop, appraise and performance manage staff to ensure they are fully motivated to achieve best performance to meet the company's needs
  • Identify where individuals need additional support and provide appropriate interventions
  • Demonstrate appropriate delegation of responsibilities and tasks to the team to achieve balance of workload and provide development opportunities to the team
  • Ensure that the competence of the team is continually assessed; both formally and informally. Where a colleague in the team is not achieving KPI's; support and monitor immediate and thorough development action until you are confident they can achieve the standards required without formal supervision.
  • Ensure Sales advisers are identifying opportunities and referring in different areas of the sales team - Exact, Sage 200 and EQUE2 etc.
  • Inspire Sales team and colleagues to adopt the right behaviours so that the customer experience is always exceptional and professional
  • Recruit and build our current sale team
  • Ensure the department operates in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Implemented regular sales workshops for the sales team to learn new product and services
  • Dealing with customer complaints and advising the sales advisers of other options
