A Paint Robot Programmer job opportunity has just become available, within a market leading Tier one Automotive business. Located in the Banbury, this business is looking for an Engineering professional that can work closely with the various teams on site, to help ensure customer requirements are met. If successful, you'll gain a starting salary (negotiable) of £40,000 as well as a great holiday/pension package to go with it.

Main Purpose for the Paint Robot Programmer position

As Paint Robot Programmer you'll be responsible to programme manager the introduction of new products that come into the business, and optimize all current production paint application, to achieve the required timing and performance targets

Paint Robot Programmer Responsibilities include -

* Programming of multi axis FANUC & B M Paint robots within the paint booth department
* Offline programming using CAD/CAM software
* Complete and submit quotation packages to the commercial department for new products
* Assist with the robotic application to improve RFT & Yields
* Ensure all new project are handed over, on time and within quality / cost constraints
* Attend all project reviews and daily meetings as required
* Advise the projects department on feasibility / requirements of parts for paint
* Apply continuous improvement techniques to minimize application faults
* Create and maintain timing plans
* Maximise post density and reduce waste
* Reduce plant cost per square meter and material usage
* Support quality department to manage and close 8D's when required

Desirable Skills/Experience/Attributes -

* Strong knowledge of robotic paint application within a Tier 1 Automotive environment
* Ability to programme both online and offline on multi axis robots (FANUC, ABB, B M is desired)
* Knowledge of paint makeup, rheology and behaviour for solid, mica and metallic paints
* Previous experience with problem solving CI Tools such as 5y's, Capability studies, histograms etc
* Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills.
