Lead / Senior Project Engineer

Purpose of Role:

As Lead Engineer, you will be supporting Lead Engineers in the qualification planning, execution, technical project management and problem resolution.

You will ensure the programmes are delivered OTIF and to budget.

The Lead Project Engineer, will manage a team to deliver innovative composite products through the use of design for manufacture, design to cost and design for variability toolsets.

You will test and interrogate rapid prototype parts to mitigate technical risk and ultimately deliver robust components to market.

The Successful Candidate / Skills Required:

* Experience in a similar role in a manufacturing / production environment e.g. Automotive/Aerospace OR similar
* Demonstrable experience in leading projects from "cradle to grave" including NPI
* Experience in the testing of structural composites or components in static and dynamic mode
* Installation and Validation of test equipment

Responsibilities Overview:

* Lead Engineering project teams to deliver New Product Introduction (NPI) milestones
* Support programme delivery OTIF and to Budget
* Be the technical contact for the customer to manage deliverables, requirements and change.
* Ensure hardware and rig availability to meet customer qualification deadlines
* Be responsible for the main project goals and delivering a product into production, meeting target levels of costs, hours, materials and tooling.
* Provide guidance and check Engineer plans, critical features & test reports
* Check/approve definition documentation, test matrix & test plans
* Review test readiness, capability and capacity
* Work with 3rd party test houses, oversee test bed upgrades or new installations
* Create and resolve Failure Reporting & Corrective Action System reports when appropriate
