The world's leading travel company are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join this innovative company in a fantastic working space. Duties:

* Assist in preparing key areas of the monthly management accounts and bank reconciliations across several currencies, deferred revenue calculations, website development capitalisations, preparing and maintaining accruals and prepayments schedules, and all fixed asset accounting.
* Preparation and posting of journals for approval relating to all areas of accounting ownership.
* Maintenance of the fixed asset register.
* Assist the Finance Manager with finalising year-end statutory accounts and being a key resource during the annual audit.
* Ownership of the preparation of statutory accounts for one or more of the group entities through to filing with Companies House.
* Full responsibility for all VAT calculations and submissions, and management of correspondence with HMRC regarding any queries raised.
* Prepare payment schedule proposals within cash forecast parameters, which minimise the FX impact of settlement.
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with internal SOX controls for all key core accounts for review by senior management and follow up of unreconciled balances
* Taking ownership where required of deep analytical dives into various P&L and balance sheet accounts to help senior management understand results versus forecast
* Review and pre-approve of all expense claims to ensure that they are properly completed, adhere to group guidelines and comply with VAT requirements

The Candidate:

* Accounting/business degree or finalist/newly qualified/QBE accountant with 4-6 years of accounting experience
* Ability to organise data to create and maintain complex financial models that support a variety of accounting and reporting goals
* Strong presentation, communication and project management skills
* Self-motivation and the ability to work in a complex, collaborative and changing environment while staying focused on key goals and objectives
* Skills and Software: Advanced MS Excel required. Strong financial systems experience required. Experience with SQL and relational databases is a plus
