Role: Technical Consultant (Wonderware)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

To provide technical authority across the UK, managing the IT and operating technology convergence.
To provide technical superiority and world-class delivery of pre and post-sale support for customers and to be their go-to partner for all their industrial IT challenges.
To be pioneering in the application of existing and new technologies in order to be a driving force in the technical direction.
A hands on technical role effectively delivering the quoting and delivery of projects and consultancy, translating customer requirements into scope of works associated effort estimates, and delivering projects and consultancy to time, cost and quality.
To offer technical engineering and consulting during all stages of System Platform and related customer projects, including writing specifications, software development, deployment, installation, commissioning and acceptance testing.
To develop solutions in line with SOA principles, supporting the development of scalable applications.
To actively support our customers with technical issues and identify new opportunities for future growth.
To deal with internal and external customers providing a high level of both pre & post sales senior level support, and providing an escalation path from the service desk team.
Perform duties of a product consultant for products defined:
Understand product / version value proposition and be able to communicate to customers.
To be a trusted advisor for allocated products, including certification for the products where applicable
Experience developing or supporting high end SCADA or MES solutions built on Wonderware products
Experience of developing Wonderware System Platform
An understanding Microsoft Server OS administration and networking
An understanding of configuring and working in a virtualized environment, experience desirable
A good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Reporting Services, experience desirable
Ability to interact effectively with customers on a technical and commercial level, and awareness of the commercial aspects of project delivery, e.g. project schedules, changes to project scope etc.
Understanding of structured design and development methodologies plus the ability to understand, disseminate and convert design documents into technology function blocks and test specifications.
The ability to work in all aspects of the project lifecycle, from requirements to project commissioning.
Experience or exposure to high end SCADA and MES solutions other than Wonderware eg Siemens, Rockwell
Experience of Microsoft SQL development
Experience of structured programming languages, preferably C# .NET
A working knowledge of Microsoft integration and communication technologies eg web services, Microsoft Communication Foundation, Message bus. Experience developing enterprise websites desirable
An understanding of industrial comms and an ability to configure and troubleshoot from PLC through to ERP system.
