Project Manager (Automotive)

A leading manufacturer is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their team due to continued expansion.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Project Manager in the Automotive Manufacturing industry.

Purpose of Role:

The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that contracts are delivered OTIF and to budget in accordance with the contractual requirements.

The Successful Candidate:

  • Experience in Automotive Project Management
  • New Product Introduction
  • Working knowledge of PPAP/APQP and their preparation
  • DFMEA/PFMEA
  • Knowledge of ISO9000 / TS16949 QMS
  • Lean Production Systems
  • Knowledge of Automotive customer processes & cost presentation / analysis systems
  • Prepared to travel overseas on occasion (infrequently)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Keep Programme Managers informed of Project updates and report any risks to OTIF delivery on time and to cost
  • Monitor progress of projects with a "hands on" approach to ensure successful delivery of all aspects of projects including costings
  • Produce timing plans for running projects
  • Support the Quality Manager to achieve successful PSW
  • Lead project milestone reviews - plan vs. actual analysis
  • Support customer meetings and presentations
  • Ensure monthly program status reports are available at month end to track open issues
  • Assist in the implementation of policies & procedures to meet required quality standards.
  • Lead programme requirements for REACH and Vehicle End of Life (ELV) regulations
  • Assist in Design & Test functions as required supporting development of DFMEA / PFMEA / DVPR
  • Support Supplier decision making processes for tooling & equipment
  • Manage Suppliers of equipment and tooling to ensure adherence to timing, specification, production approval and costs supporting Purchasing team in sourcing decisions
  • Support design team in prototype development & production to ensure design, manufacturing and program objectives are achieved
  • Lead team feasibility reviews

Working Hours: 08.15-17.00 Monday-Thursday / 08.15-12.45 on Friday
