A superb opportunity exists for a Supply Chain Manager to join a global industry leading company for over 120 years who manufactures bespoke utilities based electronic and outsourced products. As the Supply Chain Manager you will be involved in cutting edge innovation and technology in this role supported by a collaborative management team and organisation structure.

The role:

As the Supply Chain Manager you will enjoy a fantastic senior salary with benefits package and in return deliver and be responsible for the end to end supply chain and logistics service. Developing, Best practise, Operational Excellence and Maximum Customer Satisfaction.

You will lead and manage the demand management and sales order management function (Commercial & Technical, Material/Production, Planning / Inbound / Outbound Logistics), and the operational procurement teams within a matrix organisation which operates in line with the Centralised Group Procurement strategy and policies.

Your responsibilities:

As the Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible for the overall development of the Supply Chain Management department. Provide direction and support to the leadership team and manage the indirect expenditure allocated to the SCM cost centres. Handle any dissatisfied customers and formulate new Customer Service strategies to drive continuous improvements within the area of SCM / Operations. Define, produce and act upon departmental KPI's and manage/develop the use of the Company ERP / SAP system for SCM systems and processes.

Devise procurement initiatives to support the Company Service and implement strategies to develop consistently superior Customer Service and reductions in cost across the end to end supply chain. Lead the implementation of best practice inventory profiling tools to maintain regular updated inventory profiles.

You will support the Head of Operations and collaborate with the Head of Production Engineering to ensure ramp - up of NPI. Develop a competent versatile supply-chain to deliver a quality product, on time and cost effectively. Lead profitability, whilst maintaining integrity with commercial sensitivity and customer confidentiality. You will be flexible in your working pattern as this role does include travel to multiple sites across multiple countries.

The Person:

You will have a presence about your character and be invested in your role as the Supply Chain Manager and grasp this role with both hands, plus be a motivated individual and believe in high level of delivery. You will be focussed on customer delivery and manage your team structure with performance management and encourage a high team spirit and engage well with all team and related members of the company. You will be a natural communicator and have the foresight to see potential issue on the horizon and be proactive in preventing issues before they occur. This role requires the individual to be a strong character who is professional and has the ability to push back and stand up for the best interests of the department whilst maintaining sounds relationships with all other areas of the business.


The ideal candidate will have a technical educational background or degree. An electrical or mechanical, physics, chemistry qualification would be advantageous or MBA equivalent.

You will be able to display considerable working knowledge in Customer and supplier management roles with previous experience of working within a high volume manufacturing environment. You will have a solid man management and problem solving skills ability within a B2B environment.
