A superb opportunity exists for a Head of Quality to join a global industry leading company for over 120 years who manufactures bespoke electrical monitoring equipment. As the Head of Quality you will be involved in cutting edge innovation and technology in this role supported by a collaborative management team and organisation structure.

The role:

As the Head of Quality you will enjoy a fantastic senior salary and benefits package and in return be responsible and lead all quality and operational excellence activities along the value chain focusing on both reactive and preventative performance improvement whilst ensuring product quality standards are driven to company procedure.

Your responsibilities:

You will establish the quality strategy and roadmap policies and objectives in line with the overall business goals and corporate guidelines.

As Head of Quality you will develop policies and processes for quality and risk management in order to meet customer and legal requirements in line with the company standards and requirements.

Promote and act as internal consultant for quality to proactive drive the development of the business excellence model.

Implement, monitor and control all quality systems including ISO9001, ISO14001 and BS7799, BS15000, 18001 and work within the EFQM model and Q-EHS standard.

You will manage a small team of dedicated quality members to assist you in this role and be responsible for their direct development in their roles and performance within the business.

The Person:

You will be invested in your role as Head of Quality and grasp this role with both hands. You will be a motivated individual and believe in high level of delivery. Ideally you will be a six sigma black belt with working knowledge of kaizen blitz and general best practice and be fully conversant with all quality tools such as FMEA, 5s, SPC and value stream management.

This role requires the individual to be a strong character who is professional and has the ability to push back and stand up for the best interests of the quality department whilst maintaining sounds relationships with all other departments.

The Head of Quality is often the front line of the business negotiating with customer and supplier and therefore you will be able to demonstrate sound experience and confidence at this level. You will pave the way towards excellence, lead EMEA programs and give guidance for best practice across the entire organisation.

Communication in this role is key, you will drive networking and coaching events regarding the importance of product quality. You will have the ability to transform data and use it to be transparent in your role and help others to understand the workings of your department.


The ideal candidate will have a technical educational background or degree. An electrical or mechanical, physics, chemistry qualification would be advantageous or MBA equivalent.

Working knowledge of Six Sigma black belt, Kaizen or Lean Champion proven track experience required.

A sound communicator who is tough skinned, able to challenge the 'status quo' but maintain relationships.
