A controls systems engineer is required for our client, a systems integrator in the manufacturing process and controls industry.
The main remit is to manage the installation and modification of manufacturing lines primerily within the paper, packaging, pharmaceutical, plastics, print and food industries.
Typical technology and background required may include:
Allen Bradley, PLC, SCADA & Drives, for example Siemens, S5, S7, WinCC, MasterDrives, Parker SSD Drives, Fanuc. Fieldbus experience such as Profibus, DeviceNet, robots such as ABB and safety systems such as GuardMaster. Please note, a broad background in automation technology is required but it is not essential to know each of the above technologies in detail.
The position will be project driven, so a typical client brief will include receiving client brief, working with design to provide engineering solutions, on-site engineering management and problem resolution, third party supplier management, implementation, integration and handover.
Typical project examples may include improving the productivity of a packaging machine operating on redundant controls, installation of a new paper manufacturing line in a mill, adaptation of a dry goods conveyor system for a food manufacturer or the full turnkey installation of a line for a pharmaceutical client.
An ideal applicant would have good client facing skills, problem solving ability and of course a background in controls and automation.
