The global leader in inspection, verification, testing and certification are looking for a Laboratory Technical Manager to join their facility in Thurrock.

Laboratory Technical Manager

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

*

Manage the Laboratory Quality Control Practices Spreadsheet (QCPS) to ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained, serviced and calibrated in accordance with the company Quality Manual and ISO17015.
*

Provide technical support, trouble shooting, training, validation, set-up for new and existing equipment/methods.
*

Perform technical audits in order to maintain standards with the company Quality Manual and ISO17025.
*

Provide training and technical support to ensure the laboratory staff are adequately trained to have the appropriate level of skills, knowledge and experience to meet clients demands.
*

Ensure that the Laboratory Teams Training Records / Training Matrix are kept up to date in accordance with the company Quality Manual and ISO17025.
*

Assist to ensure all samples are processed for analysis and reports of analysis are issued within turnaround times agreed with both our internal and external Customers.
*

Assist with the handover performed at start and end of every working day ensuring any key issues are clearly identified and prioritised to Laboratory Manager & Inspection Department.
*

Regularly liaise with customers to keep them informed of analytical test issues such as delays and results interpretation.

Essential



*

Considerable experience in a service industry related to the petro-chemical industry.
*

In-depth technical knowledge of analytical testing activities within the petro-chemical industry.
*

Able to adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environment.
*

Working knowledge of effective people management techniques.
*

A Levels Science/Mathematics/English or considerable experience in a fast paced Analytical Laboratory
