Responsibilities for the mechanical fitter include -
This role requires extensive travel and working away from home on customer sites, so the flexibility to work away from home during the week, and travel back home at the weekend is essential
The company also invest up to 6 months of training which takes place in Germany where the equipment is built, so the flexibility to make regular trips to Germany is also essential.
We would love to hear from suitable candidates with the following skills and experience
- Previous experience as a mechanical fitter, machine tool build engineer, machine tool fitter
- Mechanically bias, ideally holding an NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering
- Site based installation of equipment, production lines or automated equipment
- Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspection
- Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required
- Clean driving license
Benefits including an excellent base salary of £38 - £42K basic, plus engineers are paid for all their travel to and from sites or back to the hotel, overtime is paid at Time & ½ after 7.5hrs per day, Double Time on Sunday, overnight stay allowances, hotels and out of pocket expenses are all paid by the company. Also includes a fully expensed company vehicle with the choice of van or car, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 5% company pension, private healthcare and dental care, death in service, and critical illness cover.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience and skills in -

As the sole UK agent to a European brand, their CNC machine tools are globally recognized. They have a strong network of service engineers, along with 2 additional technical support staff who are office-based. They have a head office here in the UK for operations and storage.
This role will involve a lot of product training and investment from the company to bring you up to date with their full machine tool range. Once fully trained, this role would require someone flexible enough to work in the UK, Europe and sometimes worldwide depending on projects that are happening.
Responsibilities for the service engineer include -
Product training in Germany will be provided, along with job shadowing with engineers in the team
