A hugely successful, manufacturing business based near Leicester, are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their business. As a global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality products to various sectors, this business have seen growth in each quarter of the last 12 months. With a site stretching over 100,000 sq feet, they have superb manufacturing facilities ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved. This company retains the reputation of a market leader in this area, due to its attention to detail and business excellence.

Quality Manager Overview -

Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will be responsible for leading a team (Quality Inspectors and Engineers), monitoring systems already in place and driving change that in hand, will enhance profitability on site.

Other responsibilities for the Quality Manager role include -

  • Monitor systems on site, analysing data and driving changes that will improve on site performance.
  • Investigate any issues and produce written cause and corrective/preventive action responses.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure that commitment levels are aligned with business objectives.
  • Help to reduce the volume of concessions submitted to the customer.
  • Drive the zero defect and continuous improvement programme, documenting any changes.
  • Manage the Quality team, organising training plans and developing Technicians to Engineer level.
  • Maintain the QMS's and ensure that these are aligned to customer and company requirements.
  • Assist with the training of other staff and offer technical support to customers when required.

Ideal applicants for this role would have the following demonstrable skills and experience -

  • Experience leading a team within a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to read and work from complex engineering drawings.
  • Conversant tools such as 8D, 5Y, FMEA, Fish Bone Diagram and SPC.
  • Auditing knowledge and experience (such as ISO 9001 / AS 9100 / IATF 16949).
  • Confident with problem solving in front of suppliers and customers.
  • An engineering degree or other relevant engineering training.
