Job Title: Continuous Improvement Manager

Salary: Up to £50K (dep on exp) plus benefits

Location: Redditch

A well-known FMCG manufacturing facility based in Redditch that is experiencing massive growth, is in need of an experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to help streamline their business in order to cope with added demand of their most popular product range.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director you will be responsible for;

  • Decreasing changeover times, from 90 mins currently to 30 mins on each production line
  • Focussing on OEE, identify common faults and rectify them
  • Evaluate the current state of the business to identify a clear CI & OPEX strategy to deploy over the next 12 - 18 months (and beyond)
  • Provide the lean management tools and concepts as solutions to the business challenges
  • Provide training of their workforce in lean philosophy
  • Frequently facilitate relevant activities on Gemba (e.g. workshops) to drive breakthrough changes within the operations and rigorously follow up on actions derived from these
  • Set up relevant KPI's and reporting to document progress regarding on time / on budget execution
  • Develops, trains and rolls out standards and best practices using lean manufacturing and six sigma / lean tools and principles
  • Problem solving to identify root causes of selective issues restricting or affecting the business using process improvement and problem-solving tools such as; process mapping, kaizen events, value stream mapping, SMED, poka-yoke, FMEA, C&E analysis and 5S.
  • Develops and implements performance management systems that will help to measure and manage operational performance
  • Partners with the site leadership and management team to plan and execute operational and tactical improvements
  • Drives development and rollout of technology tools into the operation
  • Acts as a mentor to coach and develop staff in the mind-set of continuous improvement

The ideal candidate will be Six Sigma trained to black belt level (or equivalent) and be from an FMCG environment.
