The business specialise in the supply, installation, breakdown repair and servicing of fully automated CNC machine tools for the woodworking industry. It's a global brand with a presence in every continent, as well as a UK HQ for customers to see machine tools for demonstrations. They have a close knit team of service engineers who all in strategic areas of the UK to provide maximum coverage.

On offer is a generous package including a basic of up to £35K, travel time door to door, a 10% guaranteed bonus every year, overtime at x1.33 during the week, x1.5 for Saturday, x2 for Sunday, brand new company van fully expensed, overnight stay allowances and meals during the day, 25 days holiday plus bank hols, a healthy pension scheme and much more.

Responsibilities for the service engineer include -

  • Routine servicing and inspection of all machinery within the range
  • Planned preventative maintenance on the equipment
  • Liaising with the Service Manager to ensure the availability on site of all ancillary equipment needed to complete the servicing.
  • Following a Health & Safety procedures, and all additional Health & Safety procedures relating to the specific site.
  • Reporting to the Service Manager and to customers' staff as appropriate.
  • Promote the range of servicing and warranty products to customers whilst on site
  • Identifying all replacement parts required and ensuring that these are promptly ordered.
  • Return back to customers to fit replacement parts
  • Timely completion of all service documentation which is stored electronically

All PPM work is planned at least 2 months in advance, so the engineer will have an exact plan of where they are required to be the following week.

We would love to hear from you've previously worked in any of the following roles -

- Service Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Field Technician, CNC Engineer
- Mechanically bias, ideally holding an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering
- Good knowledge of fault finding, inspection and general machine tool maintenance
- Willingness to travel nationally, and to Ireland and be prepared to stay overnight if required
- Clean driving license

Standard working hours are 40 per week, general expectancy to arrive on site by 8:30am.

The business are prepared to be as flexible and supportive as possible, overnight stays and extensive travel is ideally kept to a minimum, but the business requires an individual who is prepared to do both when necessary. In return the company can be equally flexible when needing time off or working around other engagements
