This globally recognised leader of specialist industrial heating equipment is currently seeking an electrically biased Field Service Technician to join their team. Working from your home base, you will be required to travel internationally to install commission and repair high power (1kW-4MW) heating machinery used in a wide variety of industrial processes worldwide.

Benefits include a base salary of over £34K, travel time paid door to door, overtime paid at Time & 1/2 for weekday and Saturday, Double Time Sunday, Overnight allowance when working away including meals, 29 days holiday including bank holidays, a generous pension scheme and life assurance.

Responsibilities for the role include -

  • Installation & Commissioning of purpose made machinery including induction heaters, tube & pipe bending, high frequency induction welders and much more
  • Carry out breakdown maintenance repairs both electrically and mechanically
  • Routine service and inspection visits
  • Fault find on Siemens PLC's to work out faults and carry out corrective works
  • Providing end user support to customers as well as training and demonstration delivery

This role represents an excellent opportunity to work in a hugely successful business within a solid and stable market, and will enjoy a large amount of autonomy over ensuring projects delivered on time to the customer.

There is a robust training package which will be up to 6 months, largely based around learning the products, how they're built, job shadowing and workshop based training.

This role will include frequent international travel, so we're looking for engineers flexible to travel throughout the UK and overseas as necessary.

We would love to hear from you've previously worked in any of the following roles -

- Service Engineer, Field Technician, Commissioning Engineer, Machine Service Technician
- Electrically bias, ideally holding an NVQ level 3 in electrical or electronic engineering
- Have a solid understanding of PLC's and how to fault find
- Strong knowledge of radio frequencies, EMC, power supplies and electrical test equipment is essential
- Willingness to travel nationally and be flexible when needed
