Job Description

A lead electrical development engineer is required for a rapidly expanding, global manufacturer based in the Warwickshire area.

They have cross functional teams of staff that will support all areas from design, through to manufacture and final delivery of projects. Benefits include a salary of up to £50K dependent on experience, 33 days including bank holidays, a very generous private pension plan, life assurance and other benefits.

Working hours are 37.5hrs per week Monday to Friday

Joining what is an already established Design and Development department, the role will provide an opportunity to take ownership of the department, whilst looking for opportunities for improve current products, identify future opportunities / investment of new technology.

Responsibilities for the role include

- To effectively lead projects within the department, both new and existing
- Designing, developing, and maintaining electrical designs from concept through to finished article
- Troubleshooting of potential or current issues during the development phase of the product
- Creating and improving manufacturing methods, as well as potential modifications to equipment needed for the testing stage of the process
- To develop a strong knowledge of the traditional product line and upcoming introductions
- Working cross functionally with other departments including mechanical, electrical, quality and testing
- Feasibility studies, performance evaluation and reporting to analyze data and current trends

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience -

- Previous experience within a similar role of development within an electrical bias product range
- A BEng or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Strong technical knowledge of design, creating electrical diagrams and documentation
- Understanding of CAN systems, technical manuals, manufacturing processes and quality / testing documentation
- Innovative and forward thinking, with the ability to lead a team of engineers, and work cross functionally with other technical leaders of departments.
