A manufacturer of safety-critical components sold into the aerospace industry, is now seeking a Manufacturing / Tooling Engineer to join their successful, niche business.

Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, you will review customer designs and advise on any changes or improvements in order to take it to production. Tooling designs are to be scoped out and outsourced for manufacture, before being sent to you for testing. An analytic approach will help you diagnose the tooling and tweak it, to make sure you can produce solutions that exactly match customer specification. Once testing is complete, you will take it to production and ensure the company's high-quality standards are maintained.

As Manufacturing / Tooling Engineer, some of your responsibilities are listed below:

  • Provide reports and statistical evidence to support dimensional validations and tolerance buy-offs.
  • Tooling specification and liaison with toolmakers.
  • Tooling procurement.
  • Runner system design and CAD modelling.
  • Preparation of CAD models for Pattern Die Casting.
  • Gauge and fixture specification.
  • Control tool modifications.
  • Define internal dimensional process tolerances.

The ideal Manufacturing / Tooling Engineer will be proficient with 3D CAD modelling. You must have an engineering degree and understand ERP systems, such as SAP. You will be able to read and understand 2D drawings and be a proficient user of MS Office software.
