The market leader in inspection, verification and certification requires an experienced certification professional to take up the role of Certification Manager in Derbyshire.

As a Certification Manager, you will be responsible for managing Certification Engineers involved in Exd and Exp certification activities, acting as the focus for technical expertise in Exd and Exp, whilst also acting as a technical support 'substitute' with respect to Ex e, Ex n, Ex t, and non-electrical, this will mean you will be responsible for Exd/Exp equipment. As a manager, you will also be able to provide management support to other Certification Managers, particularly with respect to Exe, Exn, Ext, and non-electrical. Your role will also include fostering relationships with customers to assist in judging future requirements for current services and development of new services.
You'll also plan the provision of resources to meet the assessed demand, whilst preparing budgets for income and expenditure, and managing activities to achieve agreed budgets. In this role you will also prepare and approve estimates of cost and delivery for quotes, and then ensure the management of activities meet customers' needs, particularly in terms of quality, delivery and price.
You will also be responsible for the provision of relevant technical information to staff, following through a technical decision making process, and maintaining a knowledge base to be able to act as an expert in certification concepts. You'll also be able to review the output documentation and discussion of work in progress, and therefore ensure there is conformity and acceptability of the work and its results.
You'll have participated in BSI, CEN/CENELEC and IEC standards committees and Working Groups, and/or provision of expert information to others who do so, also you will liaise with other certification bodies within Europe, and prepare questions to the European Notified Bodies Group (ExNB), prepare responses to ExNB questions, and sometimes active participation at ExNB meetings. As a Certification Manager you will also have to liaise with other certification bodies throughout the world as part of the IECEx System and participate in IECEx activities, including attending IECEx meetings as appropriate and preparing and responding to technical and procedural queries raised within the system.
Your role will also involve the allocation of work, including any that needs to be subcontracted out, and monitoring the usage of subcontractors, and also the output of Certification Engineers in terms of them conducting and/or approving certification reviews. You will also provide in-post training and instruction to employees, and be able to write papers, give lectures and lead technical workshops on behalf of the company
