Service and Support Engineer

£45,000 pa dependent on experience plus overtime/TOIL where relevant

Permanent full time

Working as a Service and support engineer you will:

  • Take responsibility for start-up, maintenance (including repair) and modifications of equipment, applications, software and hardware.
  • Design and implement (Application/HW&SW) modifications/upgrades and expansions
  • Supervise site installation, modification/upgrade, commissioning and Site Acceptance Test
  • "Fast and adequately" support customers in line with the agreed contractual obligations, resulting in a correctly functioning instrumentation/equipment/ system/application and satisfied client.
  • Remote, preventive, shutdown and, health check maintenance

To be successful for the Service and Support Engineer role, we're looking for:

  • DCS software configuration generated from design documentation
  • Alarm rationalisation and understanding of EEMUA 191
  • Continuous Process control and Batch process software programming
  • Functional Safety SIL classifications and SIF calculations
  • Modifying existing safety systems and impact analysis
  • Conducting internal testing, executing or leading the Factory Acceptance Test
  • Taking responsibility for the transition to site and managing site installation through to completion

In addition to the requirements above, you will:

  • Have experience in a similar role within the oil and gas / petrochemical industry
  • Hold a TUV Functional Safety Certificate or knowledge of
  • Minimum HNC qualification in an engineering or process related subject
  • Have knowledge of ISO 9001, Health and Safety at Work
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with increments based on length of service
  • Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.
