Due to the continuous and sustained growth in what has been a challenging 12 months, the company are looking to add a field service controls engineer to their team. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their full grasp and understanding of Automation and Control Systems Engineering, appreciating the need for diligence, accuracy, and commitment.

Working as a Controls Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Travelling to various customer sites across the Midlands and along the M6 corridor
  • On site surveys of existing systems to look for corrections, improvements or modifications
  • Carry out PLC modifications on the existing electrical installations
  • PLC Upgrades, interrogation, migrations and software changes
  • Updating / modification of drawings using CAD Software (AutoCAD, Promis.e)
  • Setting up industrial communications networks - Ethernet, ProfiNET ProfiBUS, DeviceNet, ControlNet related implications & set up
  • Final testing and handover to the end customers
  • Experience in configuring Siemens, Rockwell or Mitsubishi PLC/HMI
  • LV control panels / motor control centres / switchboards
  • Setting of VSD's, Soft Starts, Level, Flow, Heating, and Pressure Controllers
  • Completion of all test and procedural documentation

What you will need to be successful as a Controls Engineer:

  • Will hold a relevant qualifications (HNC/HND/degree) in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
  • Confidence in all areas of electrical drawing modification, PLC programming and modifications, testing and commissioning of projects
  • A strong understanding of the water treatment sector
  • Willingness to travel and work away when required
  • Full clean Drivers licence
