Quality Engineer (Metrology)

A leading manufacturer of safety critical applications is looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their team.

Purpose of Role:

The Quality Engineer will be tasked with developing & implementing standards and processes for inspection & testing.

Skills / Experience required:

* Degree OR equivalent years of experience
* 3 years' experience as Quality Technician/Engineer in a manufacturing/engineering environment
* Current or previous Automotive manufacturing experience working to TS16949 standards (Advantageous), however all sectors will be considered
* Ability to identify complex problems and implement solutions in a timely manner
* CMM Operation & Programming
* PPAP preparation
* Experience of implementing Quality Systems and Quality tools
* Knowledge of quality principles including 5S & Kaizen
* Lean Manufacturing methods
* Root cause analysis & corrective actions
* ERP systems

Responsibilities Overview:

* Support the QA Manager in day to day Quality activities to ensure compliance to both customer and regulatory requirements
* Oversee FMEA
* Review / update all quality documents in conjunction with the quality team to ensure they are accurate and in line with guidelines to meet customer requirements.
* Lead continuous improvement activities
* Implement proactive quality processes & procedures and assembly processes
* Supplier issue resolution
* Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System
* Develop training to build a 0% defect culture throughout the production facility
* Conduct audits and report findings to determine corrective & preventative actions
* Responsible for planning and organizing quality for Work In Progress and Finished Goods material moving through production
* Prepare QA reports.
