As part of their growth plan, they're looking to hire experienced applications engineers into the team. They have a head office here in the UK for equipment storage, refurbishment, and distribution, as well as a global headquarters outside of the UK where the equipment is built.
Responsibilities for the CNC Applications Engineer include -
You'll be working within an already established team of engineers, collaborating and working towards the same goal, so being able to work effectively with colleagues, as well as representing the brand on site with customers is absolutely essential.
A lot of travel will be required in this role too, so having the flexibility to cover various areas of the UK, and work away from home with overnight stays is also essential.
We would love to hear from you've previously worked in any of the following roles -
- Applications Engineer, Turning Applications specialist CNC Programmer, CAM Programmer, CNC Manufacturing Engineer
- Ability to programme turning lathes, and ideally machining centres
- Strong knowledge of at least 2 types of CAM software packages
- Experience working with FANUC controls
- Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required
- Clean driving license

An Applications Engineer is required for a hugely successful OEM of capital equipment here in the UK.
With a reputation for exceptional quality and reliability, their machine tools are globally recognized. They have a strong network of engineers across the UK, along with 2 additional technical support staff who are office based. They have a head office here in the UK where they provide customer applications support, machine demos and training.
There's a huge amount of training on offer with this role, to learn either milling or turning if you feel you need it, plus there's extensive training on the control language for the right person.

- Be able to demonstrate cutting method techniques, tooling suggestions, and a high level of exposure to machining a variety of materials
- Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required

They have over 30 trained technicians across the UK, along with office based technical support staff at the end of the phone for troubleshooting support.
Product training provided, along with job shadowing with engineers in the team
We would love to hear from suitable candidates with the following skills and experience
- Previous experience as a CNC service engineer, or service technician
- Confidence with either electrical or mechanical breakdowns of machinery
- Experience working with either FANUC or Siemens controls
- Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspections
- Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required
- Clean driving license
No call out is required with this role, weekend overtime has to be pre-authorized by both client and head office before being offered out to the team.
