Buyer

An established, successful automotive manufacturer is recruiting an experienced Buyer to work from their Aston headquarters. You join the small purchasing team and take responsibility for a selection of suppliers to build strong supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms. You will take ownership of the purchasing of a range of components and materials to ensure that production targets are met.

As the Buyer you will support the Purchasing and Materials Manager:

• Work with existing supply base across Europe and the Far East to ensure the best possible material supply.

• Work closely with shopfloor functions to enable a smooth flow of materials and production

To be successful within the role as a Buyer you will have:

• Previous experience as a Buyer/Senior Buyer within a manufacturing business.
• Proven negotiation skills and to have an in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
• Ideally you will have purchased a range of materials, components, and castings.
• Worked with a range of MRP/ERP systems.
• The ability to read/understand technical drawings
