A Technical Specialist for Network Connectivity is required to be based in Solihull with some UK travel required. As the Network Connectivity IT Specialist you will provide senior level technical support services to users and organisations, providing technical information and support on the evaluation, installation, acquisition and use of the Connectivity Standard Service.
The Network Connectivity Technical Specialist will have a knowledge of supporting network and connectivity technologies, including but not limited to: Local site connectivity (MPLS/circuit/resilient connections), large site connectivity (Corporate locations, Contact Centre Services), Internet connectivity, IPVPN services, IP Voice over MPLS/QoS networks, wired and WIFI LAN services, SD-WAN/GWAN services.
Degree educated or equivalent experience in 3rd Line Technical Support roles within an ITIL aligned organisation.
Demonstrable experience of working within networks connectivity, able to demonstrate a track record of providing technical support at an experienced level to internal and external teams.
Use expert knowledge and experience in diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported incidents, including installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining customer live environments.
Manage, establish and troubleshoot issues including detailing issues in service process/procedure and recommending improvements.
Monitor and report on the status and progress of Service requests and work-package delivery, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work.
Acts as 3rd Line technical support, diagnosing and assigning tickets to the appropriate resolver group, partner or local technician and monitors the status until the incident has been satisfactorily resolved.
This role will be required as a minimum to obtain and retain BPSS clearance and depending on the Connectivity Standard Service may require SC clearance.
Plan and schedule installation and configuration of the Connectivity Standard Service Installation Service Requests, as well as customer self-service methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering and improving the Connectivity Standard Service usage.
Connectivity is responsible for the delivery of network connectivity services across the UK, Europe and the Global Corporate network backbone, providing local access points and providing site-to-network services, VoIP, SIP Trunking, ISDN and MPLS Services. It is also responsible for managed LAN services, physical and Wi-Fi environments in managed locations providing secure networks.
